V8 VSC/TRAC Disable question

I have a 2007 Sport Edition V8. I was removing the A/C blower to clean it due to some vibration. By doing this I needed to remove the cables from the TPMS and 4WD control computer to gain easier access to the blower. I was doing this at work and didn't finish by the time it was time to head home. So I left the TPMS module and 4WD computer disconnected. 2 questions- 1) was this stupid to do? Like- could it damage the 4WD system and 2) will doing this in the future allow me to have some fun in the snow without having to lock the center diff??

I should also add that when I left the modules disconnected some warning lights lit up solid on the dash- VSC OFF, VSC TRAC, and the light that looks like a truck losing control with swerving lines underneath

I have searched for this topic before and have only seen things as far as wiring a switch or button for vsc off. Nothing related to the 4WD control computer.

not sure it it would damage anything, but u will have to plug it back in to get 4lo. why go to the trouble of disconnectting the 4wd module if u just want to have fun in the snow, dont want to do the vsc off mod, just pull the plug in the engine bay, have fun , plug back in.

I know in my 08 rav you could do some crazy combination with the brake and e brake that would trip the traction control and allow you to acctually get around better and have fun. That car was 10 times better in the snow with traction control off! You would think that with people off roading 4runners they would all have something to disable the traction control

Thanks Chaz, now that you say that I do remember reading about pulling the plug in the engine bay. When I first read that I think I was under the impression that it was V6 with 2WD. Will doing this on a V8 4WD work as well?

yes, of course the lights will be on, & the abs will be off as well. u do know what plug to pull , right?

I believe so. Driver side, rear of the engine bay by the thing with all the lines coming out of it? Brake controller? Is that what that thing is?
