Valentine 1 Hardwire

Just got into a 2014 Trail, and coming from faster euro cars I have a special connection with my Valentine 1 radar detector. That being said I had hardwired it into my 135i, and now that I am in the runner I was wondering where the best place is to tap into power? I have the kit that came with the Valentine to hardwire, just need a shove in the best/easiest direction for a power source. Is there a fuse block inside, or just the one in the bay?

It's a 4Runner, not a Ferrari, no need for it. Sell the V1 and get some trail upgrades!

Do you have the hardwire kit from Valentine? I hardwired mine to the auto dimming mirror using the hardwire kit and routed it down through the front of the headliner. I cant find the post, but there is a thread made already which shows you which wires to tap into. (without pics, its worthless i know) The dark blue wire (+) and white/black striped wire (-) are the ones i used. sorry, i would take pics of mine but i am extremely hung over.. good luck.

BlendMount makes a quality bracket, but it's pricey. Installed an Escort with Mirrortap harness, easy install, wires just slide into back of Auto Dimming mirror plug (power & ground) on back side of mirror. Can't remember wire colors, but a volt meter will verify. Slick setup! Sorry I don't have a better pic.

I just did this in mine. I have a V1 and just used a phone cord (make sure the cord works with the detector before you start) and ran it between the windshield and molding on the top, over to the A pillar. Down the side under the curtain airbag molding into the underside of the glovebox and plugged it into the 12 volt outlet in the glovebox. It looks permanent but is easily removable. You don't have to splice wires or anything. You did ask for the easiest way. It took about 5 minutes. Hope this helps.

Tapped into the power on the rear-view mirror. You can just use a normal telephone cord if you're looking for power only.

Thanks for all the help, I'm going to tap into the RV mirror once I get the time! I already have the cord so it should be simple...
