35's! 35's! 35's!

Ya, the body lift helps a lot. My V8 doesn't care about the tires, but from what I've read the V6 does. Keep old tires and if it's horrible swap back, sell the 35's and use profit towards new 33's.Found another set BFGs 315's for 150 - they look to be in perfect shape - reached out to him, if I can get them for that, may be ordering a body lift ASAP and then doing some cutting but not much of anything till body lift is done. I didn't want to run 35's till i could regear, and when i regear i want arb's front and rear, so that's not happening for a while lol.

V8 with 35s is best runner. that is until i finish my 89 with 37s. but if you wanna get serious with your 4th gen look into doing the metal tech LT rear suspension. makes a world of difference when wheeling it. oh and UCAs, those are pretty much mandatory. looks good so far.
Personally a SAS kit from allpro would be best!

The kit for our platform is complete. You can get the steering parts, shocks, everything. I've talked to a couple guys running that kit now and all have been very satisfied.I used thier kit on my 86 when I did the SAS on it - I have to say now - only part of the "kit" I would buy would be the front hanger, the rest is better if you measure and do it all yourself, the hardest part for me was steering and the kit had nothing for steering anyway, hell mine didn't come with shocks just hoops and I had to do custom measurment for front shocks which kinda pissed me off, I ended up running some like Bronco2 rear procomp 9000's in the front as they had the perfect travel I was looking for and they were cheap as hell, but that was a LONG time ago, back when my favorite place to buy from was Downey, Man I miss Downey catalogs![]()
Now I have some of you wondering - I did the SAS on my 86 4Runner in 2002;-) I actually traded a set of 33x12.50's on Crager Soft 8 black rims for the 4Runner in pieces, the tires were going on my T100 I had at the time but decided i wanted a trail pig, so traded streaight up - engine was in pieces and front diff was good - my T100's front diff was exploded and they bolted directly in, and both had 4.10's. So I took the block and head to machine shop, bought enginebldr internals, had them work the engine - 800 bucks later had a brand new to me 22re with a bad maf, bad injectors, and a happy ass individualGot it stragithed out and realized my trail pig had no 4wd, started looking and found a 84 front axle with 4.88's. The rest is history
Miss that damn 4Runner - when I sold it a guy came from Indiana to Florida and bought it:/
Loved every minute perusing this thread...and you have a beautiful home.

I have put a lot of thought into custom building one, and may still, but all the geometry figured out is a real plus! Lol

You can use whatever axle you want, they make the mounts to fit it. I plan on newer Ford axles myself. There's more to the kit than the description, I had to talk to people with the kit and then allpro themselves to figure it all out. Pita! LolJust went and looked, the kit how I would buy it is rather expensive also for this v8 we have I'm not running birfields....I will say it is more complete than it used to be when they first started them but I do like that ours is not leafs in the front... Hmm, may be a "solid"consideration in a few years, for now I'm just happy I have all the parts I need for the front to make it last till I possibly have the funds and time for a sas![]()

Had two VA appointments today - one at 8 and one at 1 so took the day off and in between ahd a little time.
Haven't got alignment yet and glad I haven't, found this little issue when testing flex out....
Yeap, so have my arms set to the 4.0 positive setting, and honestly have them slid all the way in as had to drive a bit before alignment and the camber was BAD. Anyway, looks like i'll be moving mine to the D location for the +2 and going with that for now, Iwill say this only happens when fully flexed aka droop on this side and turned, so it's fairly hard to replicate, but it's there so I will fix it![]()
I would get an alignment first. May just be doing that because it is off. I have mine at +4.5* and haven't had an issue.
