Vests/Plate Carriers

What do you guys have? What do you recommend? What's your main purpose for it? How do you guys have it set up?

Right now I have a US Palm MOLLE Defender set up for when I had my shotgun out here in CA. Had a MOLLE 1911 holster with two mag pouches and a big pouch for extra shotgun shells.

Not sure how I want to evolve it once I get back to AZ but I think I'll gear it more towards black rifle.

I'll get pics when I get home tonight, (if I don't pass out again) but I have one that was tactically aquired from the desert, and I've got it set up prettu much the same as I had it there.

3 Double mag pouches, IFAK, 2 9mm, drop pouch.

Right now, it just sits and collects dust in the corner. However, I DO grab it and wear it every know and then. The smell and fell are something I really do miss.

Plans for it? SHTF stuff. Nothing I really need it for right now. If I get a contracting job or something when I get out(probably not), then I'll use it there. Otherwise, just keeping my skills up.

I'm still deciding between the PIG or Fight Light plate carriers. Trying to keep something it as streamlined as possible so I can throw Rhodesian on or off as I please if I feel the need to run slick.

Don't have a plate carrier, but I do have my "Light Assault/Recon" rig partially kitted up. The vest is a quality unit from an overseas military supply company, I chose it specifically for it's minimal design, but good MOLLE Layout. Currently I'm running two Specter 18 round MOLLE shotgun shell holders and a 5.11 Tactical 6"x6" MOLLE pack on the lower back area. I am planning a 7.62x51mm Battle Rifle/DMR set-up in the near future so I will run a set of mag holders and possible run my pistol on the rig if I have room (otherwise I'll do a drop-down holster off the hip, not ideal but work with what you have...) There's a Specter 2" Tactical Belt looped on the bottom of the vest for extra support, I'll run a set-up for a portable radio receiver, ect. later down the road. To be honest getting is finished has taken a back seat to more pressing mods on the 4Runner and other things lately.

It's mainly for SHTF situations, but I suppose it could be used for hunting, airsoft, drilling, back woods exploring?
