I havent used it have used there wnch lines. Though I would most likey recommend a Superwinch Talon. They can be had for around $1k with synthetic line, hawse etc. Big thing about them I like is that they have a sealed solonoid and the winch is ip8 submersible, has a lifetime warranty I just rebuilt a smitty built, it is ok but I can see the areas where there needs to be improvement. Thou I must say they sent me a plethoria of parts without question or cost.
I guess in the end it depends on how much you want to spend. Look at line speed both unloaded and loaded, capacity, solonoid and winch construction. Coat is always dependent on how much you want to spend. Also look at how the solonoid mounts, ie if you need a remotemmount of solonoid. Go with tried and proven there are alot of choices out there and alot of armchair opinions and brand loyalty. I have tried a few winches. My best lck has been Superwinch without fail, warn second. Others vary, you do in a way get what you pay for. These days some charge quite a bit for there winch and make sacrifices just to keep them "made in America" tough that has changed dramasticaly.cough "Warn" cough. But, if you can look a little past that at what you get for your dollar how much you are going to use it, ie will you be out int the middle of nowhere and your life could depend on it? Take a good look at Superwinc. i really like the Talons for the money, highest line speed, sealed electronics etc, there Bill Butke Worm Drive winch bullet proof but expensive second.
