Viper Passive Keyless Entry Kit - Thoughts?

So, I've been up all night thinking of projects to do to my 2006 4Runner for next year.

After much research, I came across the Advance Keys AK-104B

link -> Welcome to Advanced Keys

What I didn't like was the price and the fact that you'd have to drill out your steering wheel to prevent it from locking (either that or carry your factory key and put it on ACC... but then, what's the point?!?!)

HOWEVER... I discovered this system... The Viper PKE (DEI 2102T)

What do you guys think? This install shouldn't be any different than any other alarm / remote start right?

Sure, I don't get the push-button start, but I don't have to drill out my steering wheel either!

do you know if u just click the key to the start for a sec and it cranks by itself? if you dont want to carry keys, try the compustar or viper that do gps tracking on the cars, u can unlock by phone and remote start.

Yes, I know that if you just turn the key and let it go the 4Runner will start...

I LOVE that that feature, which is why the push-start isn't really a big deal for me...

However, I would love to have this passive key so that the truck will lock and unlock itself... It's a proximity sensor. Just like the 5th gen SmartKey.

As you get close to the truck, it'll unlock. When you walk away, it'll lock.

I'd still need the key to start it, but it would be great for when my hands are full and I want to load up groceries

get the 2 way compustar pro system, install the remote start and it also has the keyless proximity sense. also have the 1 mile range 2 way remote.
