Viper remote start question/issue

For those of you that have the Viper remote start, I had the 5906v installed and the installer is using my brake pedal as the safety/anti-theft mechanism. When depressed, the brake pedal stays down just a tad and I must use my toe to bring it back up every time I use my brake. It's annoying and a safety issue for me.

For those that have the Viper setup, does your use the brake pedal as well? Or doe it use the emergency brake?

I'm thinking he used the setup that the manual transmission would use, not the automatic transmissions.

That is definitely not correct and would take it back to the installer and have them correct this.

that is not normal at all, for safety shutdown, the installer is suppose to get the brake wire for signal when its pressed down, you sure you dont have air in the brake system itself? done any brake fluid maintenance yet? was the pedal travel the same without the remote start put in?

No this condition wasn't present before the install. The brake pedal was normal. I've looked at the assembly and there isn't anything that would prevent the normal operation of the pedal. I'm taking it back to have him fix it.

Totally not normal. He just needed to grab one wire off the brake switch. He may have inadvertently knocked a return spring off the pedal assembly. I would definitely take it back though.
