Volant Air Intake fits 2008 4.7L 4Runner

Yet another mod that is listed as not fitting a 2007 or 2008 4Runner FITS and works just fine. The sound, in combination with the TRD Exhaust, (off the 4.0L, also fits) and the URD Y Pipe is amazing.

I had to cut 8"s or so off then re weld pretty basic...

As requested, I had my camera on the floor in the back hoping to capture the sound but got a lot of tire noise anyway.... around second 35 I floor it and you can hear it.

How did the Volant affect your MPG? I'm looking at the same set up for my
05' sport V8. But if it's not any better than K&N, I'll go K&N cause it's cheaper...any advise?

IMO K&N is not as good, they over oil their filters and can cause a CEL due to a dirty Mass Air FLow Sensor, over a period of time. It happened to me... There's also a lot more flow again IMO with the Volant you can hear the difference between the two. Get what you pay for...

Who knows? it's dependant on how much I use the skinny pedal. It's a V8 so I don't try to see what kind of mileage I can get out of it usually average 17mpg in the city up to 20 highway. Again I have different gears, 4:11's with 32" (275/65R18 Cooper STT Discovery)

I have the V8 as well. I get 17 on the hwy doing 78 mph. Not bad for the V8, but I sure would like a bit more. Maybe the intake and eventually exhaust will get me another 1 or 2 mpg. It's interesting to me how good it will do going 60, seems to be near or just over 20, but I don't drive 60 very often.

with the volant & exhaust you may loose some low end grunt, but gain some in the upper. thats what happened with mine, so i modded the volant box, went with they're new dry filter, & installed a jet maf sensor. it worked for getting the low end back.
