VSC, ABS, TRAC lights on, but NO CEL

Hey guys,

I've had these light come on and off for over a year with no change in how the car drives. I'm in the military and will be shipping the car from Hawaii to the mainland soon and they will not accept vehicles that have trouble lights without a hassle and it's my luck that it would pop up when I drop the truck off. Anyway, I have an 2006 4X4 Limited and tried a couple different ways to do the zero point calibration, but no luck. The lights come back on. Weird that I could find how-to's for the 3rd gen and 5th gen, but nothing for the 4th...Well, I think my next step might be to buy and install another yaw sensor, but I'm not sure if I'm wasting money. I was also going to replace the o2 sensors since I'm nearing 95,000 miles, but I'm having a hell of a time getting the part numbers for them. Can anyone help? I've tried the search for the last hour but can't find much. Basically, I'd like to replace all 4 with Denso, so: are both upstream sensors the same? If so, what's the correct part number? Are the downstream sensor part numbers different? BTW, I'm not showing any CURRENT ODB codes, but there are a few stored "readiness" codes that I couldn't erase if I wanted to because they are emissions related, one of which had to do with a start up circuit not being the right temp, which I think is pointing to an o2 sensor. Again, no CEL at all. Thanks in advance for the help!

I had this problem, If its the same as mine was its the air injection pump that helps to warm up the cats in the beginning of your drive to help emissions.
Im not advocating that you bypass these systems (cus thats against the law) but you can get a module that is plug and play with your MAS it will tell the motor that the ambient temp is over a certain degree and will not attempt to run the warm up process with the secondary air pump. It cost me about 200 bucks on ebay and solved all my problems.

It may be that an abs sensor wire is not communicating.

Checking for continuity on the sensor may help using a multimeter. There's 3; front left, front right and rear.

Just to throw another potential issue in, mine come on when my wheel bearing goes bad, replaced 3 of them now. Usually that is my early indicator.

It could be the brake/stop light switch. I was having the same issue with my 2006 4x4 Limited, replaced it with a new switch from Autozone for $25 and haven't had any more lights come on. There are a few threads on here if you search for it.

Thanks for the replies gents. I have another yaw sensor being sent in the mail and in the interim, I just installed a new brake pedal switch. No warning lights yet, but I've only driven about 10 miles. BTW, for those that did the brake light switch fix, did you have to do an ECU rest after install, or did the new switch solve the problem and no reset was needed?

As far as the other fixes, can you tell me why a bad wheel bearing would cause these lights to come on? Also, I have a meter and can check the ABS connectors for the proper resistances. I hope the brake switch solves the problem, but I'm ready to explore other avenues if it doesn't. Only 30 days before I ship the truck, so I need to get this fixed ASAP. Thanks again!

Yep, that's what caused the same issue with mine. Much easier, cheaper than some stuff being suggested.

I've gotta be honest, I'm not sure why every Damn light has to come on when something isn't working right, but they do. One last thought, gas cap will make everything light up to. Replaced mine a couple months ago.

He said no check engine light so it won't be the gas cap that every one on the Internet thinks fixes it.and they make a lot of lights come on because the systems are network,one system sends input signals to the others,if one faults the others will see an incorrect signal and report a fault.or it could just be that they want the dash to light up like a Christmas light show so it will be harder for people to ignore than just one.

Problem solved!!!

Thanks to you guys, I replaced the brake light switch in hopes that the lights would go off. Well, they did and I had my fingers crossed that they wouldn't come back on. After replacing the switch, I bought a CReader 123 code scanner. I plugged it in and had my whole vehicle scanned just a couple of minutes. The only fault that came up was "open in brake light switch circuit". Cleared the code and all is well. Thanks to all who took the time to help. You guys rock!
