vsc lights and won't shift

The vsc lights came on as well as the check engine light came on and will not shift. I have the 4.7 V8 motor 2004 4runner. Dealer put it on computer and said it needs wiring harnesses that connect engine and transmission because of corrosion in the connectors are corroded. Has anyone else had this problem and can the connectors just be cleaned? The dealer gave me a price of 2000.00 for repairs. Any help would be appreciated.

That is a major diagnostic need, if it can be towed. Most likely, it will need to be scanned to locate the problem. However, you may want to pop open the center console, and do a visual inspection. That is where the VSC module is (found it by just looking around), and it should say VSC. Check if anything has been spilled near it (coffee, juice etc.) and go from there. Drinks can leak down through the cup holders, and get on the wiring, or control modules.
