wanna mod my 4runner, rough prices?

so my new 4runner is a 2000 sr5 v6 2 wheeldrive...the main things i want to do is lift it 3 or so inches, new air intake wich i just installed this weekend! new exhaust and a soundsystem oh and new tires...and an exhaust....how much is a good estimate to have each of these done?

It really depends on HOW you do each mod. Lifts can be on the cheaper side (spacer lifts) or on the really expensive side (SAS). Same with your audio system and exhaust system too. Best advice is to figure out a budget for each mod, do a bunch of research, do a bunch more research and then come back with any unanswered questions you may still have.

yeah thats what i have been doing so far....my only problem is what if my car isnt finnished by the time i have to go to work monday morning and all....

Ahhh, good. I have two backups. An old beater car and an old dirtbike. Both work... though... I love my 4Runner the most...

This is what I did, it's kinda cheap IMO, the way I did the lift was the right way and the tires are great and cheap for what they are.

You can save money buying things used like looking on craigslist for tire/wheel combo, but it all depends on how you want to go about it. You could go all out and spend a ton, or you could go cheap it all depends but this is what I did and I love it

awesome, i am looking at my next thing is i want to do a 3 inch lift....what is the recomondation? not going offroad or anything but i like the look,and i haul all my tools in the back so the rear has to be strong! on average i have about 200-500 ounds of tools in the trunk daily....

Lifting is pretty straightforward. I did mine with the help of one friend and I'd consider myself a beginner when it comes to working on cars.
It's definitely helpful to have a person to work with. Getting the bottom mount on the larger front coilovers to line up with the lower A arm took quite a bit of wrestling. And its very helpful to have a second person when getting the longer rear coils in as well.

Here read this and you can decide what's best for you http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/66976-3rd-gen-4runner-lift-information-faqs.html I went with a suspension lift which I listed above since it's done right and why not do it right I. The first place then have to replace stuff a bad cheap lift did to the car, I would suggest to do the way I went, it gives you 3" in front and just about 4" in the rear, let's you clear 33"s easily.but it all depends on what you want to spend.
I had a shop do the lift install mainly because I was 16 and had no experience or a place to do it, I wish I would have done it myself but it was money well spent since it comes with a warranty and you don't have to worry about stuff if you never did it before. So if you and a buddy are good with tools I would say do it yourself and save the money you would pay the shop to do it and then you can get your sound system and exhaust

Air intake - $50-$150
new exhaust - $100 or less for just a muffler, up to $250-$500 for a full cat-back
soundsystem - $100 to $$$$$$
new tires - for a goo set of 31s $800-$900 , 33s $800-$1100

i would actually say the million dollars is about right by the time you pay for welding ,machining,fabrication and electrical engineering classes, tools and equipment along with materials, parts, and electrical components..plus you still need to put gas in the thing....:toilet:

seriously though a total moderate build is going to run somewhere around 4~5~6k depending on what you go with and what you do.

1.3k for lift and suspension parts, bushings ,end links ect
1 k for tires and rims
1.5 bumper and winch
1k for batteries,lights,wiring,switches,radio's ect
1 k for other modifications uca's,sleeping box, stereo, ect ect

bare bones can be done for about 2k if you have tools and the skills to fabricate your own stuff.
