I wasnt sure if I wanted to post it but others should know about this since I did not feel how the situation was handled was niether moral not right.
BTW just for future prosperity I ended up buying a curved lightbar from Desert Rat. Installed the unit for about 2 weeks and ended up getting moisture in the unit. I had the unit a total of say two months. Ended up having to send the lightbar back on my dime for inspection warranty. Ended being told those past week after having to call to see if they even got it as I hadnt heard anything in over 12-14 days sonce I mailed it. Was told they have never seen this happn before but they where going to replace it, as they should. It was the Night Stalker Cuved LED Lightbar. Didnt take pictures of the water intrusion, my bad. They made a smart comment about not using lightbar underwater to which I told them it is on a roof rack and I would have worse problems than a lightbar if that was so, and acted like they where not going to replace, if so I was going to ask for my money back and go with a Rigid, but money is tight with a new boat. Anyways I got a call from them yesterday saying that unfortunately the lightbar model they where going to send me had gotten sold out from underneath the guy at Desert Rat. Was told they dont have anymore nor can get anymore and would have to give me the next model up. Sounds good huh about right. Then he says ok sir how do you want to pay for the $100 difference? I was like wah...? Unreal, charging for a warranty item way to stand behind your products you sell. I am not such a big dick and didnt feel like getting too upset about this and wasting my time arguing about it that I agreed to pay the difference at cost, still $50. Yet, in my eyes, I should not have been made to pay anything, let alone have to pay shipping in the first place for something that was a product issue not caused by me nor them not having the replacement isnt my fault. I dont want extra money going out since I am buying the boat and need everything for that right now to get it how I want it. What says you. I have learned my lesson and will be sticking with reputable establishments and manufacturers like Rigid who stand behind there products, well worth the extra cost of entry. I will be going with Rigid for all my Marine lighting needs as I ended up finishing off my rack with there light also.
