was T Boned..vsc abs lights now on

was t boned today, the impact bent my passenger front tire...got a tow truck, lifted the front wheels, started the car,put it in 2wd, put it in neutral t owed it to the mechanic, about 4miles away..about 3miles into the trip the abs,vsc and another light came up on the dash...am worried..did i mess up truck?

I'd say definitely an ABS sensor or something like that judging by your wheel being bent that bad.

Not to sound mean or anything... but yeah... if those lights weren't on I'd be surprised.

You probably didn't do any more damage than you already had done by the accident, the system just threw DTCs for issues already present that will be fixed by the shop, so don't worry about it. Just make sure you get everything checked out properly and fix what needs to be fixed.

My guess, you're looking at maybe;

-Spindle and hub
-Upper and/or Lower Control Arms (Balljoints included)
-Steering Rack (assuming the tie rod didn't bend/snap and imparted force to the steering rack)
-Axleshaft
-Sway Bar Link
-Brackets for the Front Diff (unlikely, but the front diff might have been shifted over slightly)
-ABS Wheel Speed Sensor & Wiring
-Possibly the brake line on that side
-Fender Flare
-Door Body Paneling
-Possibly a new door or some sheet metal work
-Sheetmetal work (obviously)
-Running board (if you want them still, have them check the running board mounts to the body, they more than likely pushed into the body during the impact)
-Strut/Shock Assembly
-ect

Just have the truck scrutinized with a magnifying glass and have the Insurance company cover the damages, many times small things come back in a big way after an accident. You want to catch even the smallest issue now before it becomes a bigger problem later down the road.

From what I can tell, it looks like it was a really low car. If I were him, I would also check to be sure the frame wasn't tweaked. A car sliding under a truck can cause some terrible damages underneath that you won't be about to see.

lights probably came on because the PCM was actively reading wheel speed and noticed a discrepancy between the front two wheels up on the dolly and the rear wheels moving at tow truck speed. It decided the sensors were out of range and disabled VCS/ABS as a result.

frame looks OK. running board seems to have taken most of the impact.

thanks guys for kind words.....yeah, nobody was hurt, the car was going at about 40 to 50mph... while i was doing about 8-10mph, i accelarted hard when i saw him secs b4 impact [the other car said he didnt see me at all] witnesses say the impact was like an explosion/gunshot,

from initial analysis, the mechanic says the spindle and lower control arms are probablly going to be changed out....the struts appear ok.
will have a better idea of all the bad parts later today.

To me, that looks really bad. I would be concerned about stuff you can't see with the eye. A shock load like that to the front suspension has got to be hard on joints and alignment and steering rack seals and CV shafts and everything else. Mounts are probably bent and bushings are probably shot.

Having said that, my 4R was involved in an identical accident before I purchased it...and other than the fender and door being a different shade of grey (the painter who did this sucked at his job apparently) you can't tell it ever happened. Mine drives straight as an arrow and has zero vibration or issues. So they can be fixed right....if you go somewhere that has competent mechanics.
