I paid $1200 for my Omega Seamaster. Used are trading for $1400-2000.
I paid $1100 for my Breitling. Used ones are selling for close to $2000.
Where are you getting these prices?
Your Seamaster is quartz?

last time I checked I can do all those thing without my phone or Apple Watch ... just sayinI picked up the cellular Apple watch today. Surprisingly, it all worked flawlessly out of the box. And when you're in a good signal area, the call quality is good. That functionality drains the battery at a pretty steep clip (I think I heard 60 minutes of phone time on the watch). Anyway, I can now go for a run, or the gym, or out to dinner and not bring my phone. We live in the future....

last time i checked i can do all those thing without shirt, pants, and underwear...but that does not mean that i should do it...just sayin
Last time I checked, I was responsible for two data centers that provide data services to two hospitals (disaster recovery and business continuity)...just sayin. So, yes, an Apple Watch frees me from lugging my phone around. I'm very happy to hear that you're checking yourself on a regular basis.

The good watch I own is a Omega Seamaster Aqua-Terra GMT 44mm I got from my Grandfather for my 21st birthday, about a week before he passed so I don't wear it almost at all, except for family occasions, in memory of him.

And my everyday watch is a Apple Watch 3 with a woven nylon band I got very cheap because of my work.
My 2.5 years old Apple Watch still rocking on and keeping my butt off the couch!
Damn WristPad. No style. Zero character. Sad.

What is sad is the Swiss sales tanking like the Titanic! WristPad with no style and zero character is appealing to millions like myself. Many of whom used to buy high end Swiss. And it does not seem like Apple is getting off on the gas pedal anytime soon.
Apple is not only getting into fitness but also health. In near future, Apple Watch will be able to DIAGNOSE/monitor sleep apnea, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, and diabetes. And when that happens, millions and millions of wrists will have one of those WrstPads!
Swiss is indeed in deep trouble. And unlike Quartz revolution in the 1970s, Apple has the cash and resources to push the envelope and keep going. Swiss meanwhile is stuck with scraping at bottom of barrel with Android Wear shithole.
