Water pump and timing belt.

Do you have to have these done by a mechanic or can i do it my self, i just bought a brand new belt and pump just let me know if you know anything about this. and it is a 95 3.0 v6!

Maybe is the answer... Timing belts are very tedious. They have to be 100% correct. My suggestion would be to do it with a buddy who has done some V6 timing belts successfully. If you mess it the consequences can be severe... On the otherhand if you are very detail oriented, a semi-experienced backyard mechanic with a fair amount of patience there's no need to to spend the money a shop.
