Are you pressurizing the tank with a hose? I couldn't get my tank to fully pressurize with just the hose/regulator (maybe it was because I didn't fill the tank completely).

I used a pump to pressurize the tank to 40psi and was able to empty the water.

I've noticed the same thing. The self-pressurization won't empty the tank. It hasn't been a problem until an extended camping trip last weekend. A quick pressurization with a pump allowed us to nearly empty it.

It's probably just a function of the design. I wanted the side spout and I assumed that even under pressurization, I wasn't going to be able to fully empty the tank. As soon as the water level dropped below the top of the spout, the pressurization is gone. I suppose it would be possible to only have a top spout (or move the side spout to the upper most point of the side of the tank) and run a hose internally down to the bottom of the tank, similarly to how a garden sprayer is designed. Caffeine-fueled rambling...

We've used ours more than I really expected we would. Yes, the tank doesn't completely empty, but I've found that there is plenty of water for it to be quite useful. We've mostly used it to hose off the kids and dog after beach days and we used it frequently while camping in dry, dusty conditions this past weekend. I looked into building my own, but unless you want to spend the time/cash on a powered on board water system, I think this is a good way to go.
