Watersports

As most of you can probably tell (its 98 degrees down here) summer is here. Was wondering what kind of watersports all the 4R guys are into, if any. I mostly stick to wakeboarding but don't have a boat to ride behind:dammit:.

Post up with your watersports adventures so I can live vicariously through you!

No boat and you wakeboard? Your friends must be quick swimmers!

During the summer im a watersports instructor on Tahoe, when im not at Northstar. I teach anything from double ski's to wakesurfin to driving a boat while towing. Dont get to play as much as i used too but found some pics of my co-workers and i havin some fun on Donner. Once summer starts here and the water gets warmer(it snowed 3 days ago and the water is 48 degrees now) ill post more pics.

Heres a couple of the GF surfing. It was the last surf of the summer with the water temp at 58 and air a whopping 55 and a little breeze! Shes a trooper!

Grew up wakeboarding. Now we're too old and broken to do it anymore. Picked up a wakeskate a few years ago and LOVE it.

Never ridden a wakeskate or surfboard but it's definitely on my list of things to do. Keep them coming guys. This thread rocks!

You should definitely try both. The surfing is totally casual. Can't beat an endless wave (well, except for the real thing). And wakeskating isn't nearly as hard on your body as wakeboarding. You do get whiplash more due to the fact that you're not binded in, but none of the hard wake-to-wake impacts (unless you're really good).

Yeah, I know what you mean by the hard impacts. At 17 I've already had a concussion, dislocated my shoulder, jacked up my knee, and got my T5 vertebra stuck in rotation. But I love it so I keep getting back on the board. My friend has a surfboard so I'm gonna try to ride it over the summer when he comes into town.

I was a waterski/wakeboard instructor as well!! Its an amazing job but I needed to actually get a career path going... Miss it everyday

Yeah, im still trying to live the dream! Just turned 25 and still have no desire to work inside. My winter job even allows me to ride with my clients more than im in my office.

Its on the water but its not a sport. If it was, id be a pro!! Air temp is 88, water temp is around 47!! Nothing beats a 3+ hr float in an inflaitable kayak!! I would have more pics if Verizon made a waterproof Iphone!!
