hi all, have a 2011 up in new england, lots of snow so far. i was planning on getting the floor liners but received the mats as a gift. kind of feel funny about returning them. any thoughts? should i upgrade? i see i can track a lot of snow into the car so far, but spring is on its way! is one set better as an all around weather mat?

thanks!

I bought the Weather-Techs for the front and back. I love em'. I'm in CT and have been dealing with the same weather. I also have the Toyota mats/rugs, and am going to put them back in for the spring and summer.

Same here, I'm also in CT. I'm in and out of the truck all day. The liners are saving my rug, and my rug floor mats, which got destroyed. They are a must have IMO.

I just picked some liners up for my '03 earlier this week and they are awesome. Seamless, matching color, contoured shape that is protecting my carpet; what's not to like? The coverage of these things is great. Guy tried to sell me Huskys but I chose the WeatherTechs for numerous reasons. Can't say anything about their other products yet.

I've had Husky floor liners in vehicles over the years (before I ever knew about Weather Tech). I liked them because they do contour to the floor and protect the carpet, but the "lip" that stands up on the edges tends to roll down and look silly over time (still do the job, but just look bad IMO). I put Weather Tech DigitalFit liners in my 03 4R back in 07 and the carpet looks awesome still, as do the liners. The perfect fit and the protection makes the Weather Techs a no-brainer.

Getting back to the OP's question, I'm sure the mats will do well, but the liners will definitely protect more. As to whether you should keep the mats or get liners, I would go for the liners. Unless the person that gave you the mats will be riding in your Runner much! Then you might have to just keep the mats, right? :biggrin2:

I've got weathertech liners and cargo liner in my 5th gen. I personally would recommend them over normal mats because of the added coverage. The driver side covers the dead pedal and goes way up past the pedals, way up on the sides, and covers most of the door sill. I'm a clean freak in my cars, and these definitely make my life easier.

thanks all, i think she'll def notice lol. i'd tell her anyway, if i did upgrade. I was getting ready to buy the liners and she got me the mats as a gift, so I'm thinking ill keep them. I'm sure they'll do what i need, save me $100 and cover much better than the oem mats ;)
