weathertech floorliner update

After having some inclement conditions with my weathertech floorliner mats shown here:

I can honestly say that the automatic "draining" feature really works. I never "knock" or clean my shoes before I get in and have tracked quite a bit of snow into the driver side. The mats have "self-cleaned" out all the water and muck, dumping it on the door sill area.

It has been great. In the past I have had mats with deep groves that held the water and still got my pants dirty...these floorliners are better.

I would love to get these, but I can't right now. damn. lol. They def look nice with the black/gray contrast.

I understand that the Weathertech's use the factory hooks for the OE carpet mats. Do you get mud and dirt on the factory carpet where the hooks are located?

Good question. I have not checked in ages, but I will do so at the first opportunity and get back to you. If stuff has leaked thru those holes we will definately know.

The Husky liners require the removal of the hook, so was wondering if they may be a better buy?

Some find the Husky's to be slippery. I haven't had a problem with them being slippery other than when the detailer wipe them down with something slick.

The Husky's don't interfere with the trashbag holder. They are also a bit cheaper (in price) than the WeatherTechs.

I removed the drivers side mat today.

good news: the area under the two anchor holes was absolutely clean. I saw no evidence of dirty water getting in this area. YMMV. Those anchors made it difficult to remove the mat tho.

bad news: the area under the pedals was slightly dirty, but reasonable. The area under the "dead pedal" had accumulated allot of dirt, primarily gravel and such. The dirt stayed in one specific zone, but still that is an area for improvement in the design. Perhaps the mats could cover the dead pedal.

Final note: after 9 months of use the passenger side "weathertech" emblem/sticker has come off. I'm not worried.
