weathertech roof wind deflector...

thinking about getting a roof wind deflector by weathertech? wondering if anyone with one is happy with it or save your $$? thanks.

I don't have a deflector because the wind noise from the moonroof is not too bad. Does yours seem to be very loud?

Opening a rear tailgate window couple inches will reduce a wind noise from the moonroof.

And create a wonderful breeze that feels like angles are licking the nape of your neck. I LOVE it, one of the many reasons I bought a Runner.

My 4th Gen was really bad about doing this. The fumes haven't seemed as severe on the 5th Gen. Anyone else feel this way?

I don't seem to be having problems with it and I open mine all the time, I do have the aftermarket chrome bling exhaust tip that point down towards the ground, maybe that helps?

Haven't tried a wind deflector on a 5th gen. 4Runner, but my experience driving different vehicles with them is they add noise over the stock deflector. Just my .02 cents.

I don't have the problem of fumes and I can spend that money on a hood guard

My wind deflector

I have a wind deflector, but I don't think I would necessarily recommend one. For wind noise, it doesn't really make a difference. The only reason I keep it on is because I've grown to like the looks of it. However, it also takes away about three inches of real estate in the opening....which I wish I had really thought about that when I stuck it on in the first place. I may have positioned it a little more toward the front of the truck. Unlike my wife, I actually use my moonroof almost daily. I love the size of the 4R's, moonroof, too.

So, if you're doing it for noise reduction, don't count on much if any. Looks-wise, I like it though.
