Weird relay issue when battery is drained

So I don't drive my truck a lot, I've noticed that when it sits and the battery drains down there's a relay that starts clicking and going nuts. The interior lights also flash. Anyone have any idea what relay would be doing this when the battery is low? I'm concerned it's going to cause more electrical issues. Just wondering if anyone has seen this before.

are your interior lights LED? cars electronics like a nice steady stable flow of current. when a battery is dieing it is not operating as it should and the electrical system doesn't like that and can act up.

the odd weak battery isn't likely to damage your electrical system. however if your electrical system is constantly being subjected to irregular power delivery that can cause issues over the long run

I would get a trickle charger if you drive that infrequently

Yes, all interior lights are LED.

I do have a trickle charger, but don't always employ it right away

As mentioned it is a normal symptom for LEDs to flicker under inadequate power supply. Long term could cause issues.

You know this… but treat the root cause, not thee symptom. Use your trickle charger. 30 seconds of effort will save you an expensive early battery replacement at the least.

I get that on both of my Toyota's when I run the battery down too low to start.

I think there is enough power for energize the relay, but with the load connected, there is not enough power and the relay disconnects, then tries again and again.

I can let mine set 2 weeks and they still start OK. Maybe your battery is not holding a charge long enough and needs to be replaced?

I had a problem before with a device plugged in the ODBC port that was taking a little power and it would run the battery down after about a week and give a slow start or no start with the clicking.

I would avoid this situation, it's risky for the battery or your vehicle electronics. Use a trickle charger or better yet a maintain charger designed for continuous use or maybe a solar panel battery maintainer to keep it charged.
