Well, I pulled the tirgger on a new 4-Runner this weekend!

Put the down payment on a '04 V6 Sport in titanium silver. It was a toss up, the dealer had both galatic gray and the silver, but I've never had silver and wanted to give it a whirl. (I've had my share of dark colors and dealing with swirl marks, including my soon to be gone '01 Audi A4 in santorin blue.) Wanted the V8, but the initial price difference, plus the difference in residuals just made the lease for a V8 too much money. (especially in NY state where lease deals suck now)

Anyway - picking up the vehicle this coming weekend. Anyone have some good background pictures (hi-res) of a silver sport 4-runner I can use until I pick up mine? Need something to tide me over! hehe....

First mods I plan to do are to find a auto-dimming mirror with a compass and homelink. I have this now in my A4, definately want to keep these features. :) Need to pick up a cargo mat for the back as well.

Been lurking around on this forum for a while now, pretty good site. Lots of good info., seems to be a good bunch of folks with some great advice and info. as well. I look forward to spending some time here! :cool:

Deal was good enough I'd guess. In NY state the money factor and acquisition fees are high due to the liability of the leasing company. But I ended up getting the vehicle for around $800 over invoice, something like 2.7% over invoice. I considered that fair, given the rarity of the 4-Runner sports around here.

As far as options, it's pretty much a standard 4-Runner Sport Edition V6. Handful of extra options, such as the (too-expensive) floort mats, double-decker, DRL's, etc. No packages, just some of the basic options added. Only 5 or so miles on it, still shrink-wrapped on the lot, so I was happy to find this vehicle. The Galactic Gray one they had also had 160 miles on it, so I shyed away from that one.

Was able to test drive it on a fun, twisty & turny, mountain road. Was very surprised at how agile and sporty it was, handled extremely well for a 4400 lb. suv!! Can't wait to get it this Saturday!!!

... although, I have to say I'm disapointed - no one has posted any backgrounds for me to tide me over until I pick up the 4-Runner this weekend! :p
 
Welcome to the silver 4Runner club! :p When I got the silver, I was a little upset because almost every 4Runner you see is silver. After I had the car for a month, I love the silver and I would not get any other color. Easy to clean and does not show scratches!

Wish mine was that clean....

The silver with the cladding looks really good. And there is only one other in town besides mine, but they don't have a spoiler so they are very easy to tell apart.

Thanks. I took that picture 15 minutes after I got it washed and glazed the tires. It got dirtly a couple of days later when it snowed. In March?:o

I'll have to let you know the next time I'm in the area -- frequently in Somers, but when there I typically stay just across the Tappan Zee in Tarrytown.
