Well, I've gone to the dark side...sorta

I no longer will be driving my 4Runner...its a sad day.

I was offered a job that has some pretty significant travel through the year, so I needed something with less miles and that got better mileage...and was more comfortable.

I get a monthly vehicle allowance and gas card, so that was nice. I wanted to stay under the monthly amount, which nixed a newer 4Runner.

I ended up with a 2012 Ford Edge. I've always liked them. They get decent mileage, roomy for me (6'1" and 250lbs) and the one I ended up with has a warranty to 100k (70k left).

The good news is, I'm keeping my 4Runner and my wife is going to be driving it. Not sure if it will stay lifted, she says she doesn't mind it, but I think loading the little one in there after a while will get to her. We are selling my wife's 4Runner to her sister, so its a win win for everyone.

This isn't mine, but exactly what mine looks like...all chrome wheels though

Congrats on the new job. Selling farm equipment?

My aunt has one and likes it. Other than the normal wear and tear, the only two abnormal repairs out of warranty (she has about 80k on hers I'd guess) have been for a speed senor and something to do with the door ajar sensor.

Thanks. The job is actually a project manager for a commercial painting company. They did work in 40 states last year. I'll be assigned to the 4 surrounding states to Indiana for the first year. A lot of driving back and forth for day or two trips.

I read a ton of reviews for them, and noticed that a majority had little to no mechanical issues. Plus they had a 5 star crash rating, which is nice for the amount of road time I'll have, and for when the little one is in with me.

Hopefully I won't need the remaining warranty, but its nice to have.

It's tough to leave the 4R but that's a sharp looking ride and it sounds like it fits the bill.
