Well, just took the plunge - now with PICS!

Made an agreement at lunch and going back with my checkbook after work for the deposit.

Factory ordering a V6 Sport Edition in Black. Due in approx 3-ish months, which is great as I still have my existing lease on my chev until the end of June. Dealer is awesome - I actually went to school with my salesman and sales manager.

Just to decide now if I want a spoiler or not!

The spoiler is technically an option on all trim levels, but it's very difficult to find a 4Runner without one.

Except down here in South Texas, there's wingless SE's all over the place. Personally I love the spoiler, but I'm still trying to get used to the "hump" on the newer ones. I say go for it.

Decided against the spoiler. The wife actively does not want one. Since I picked the color, I'm giving her that. She said if I really, really wanted one I could.. but I don't think I will. Besides - I kind of like the "clean" look.
If I want to change anything, they don't place the factory order until next month so I've got time.

I am a little excited though. I kind of like it having my name on it from the get go. I think I'm going to be waiting so I can see it come off the truck come June.

I bought my Sport without any input from my wife. My truck, how I want it. Totally my decision. I never looked back.

Yeah, that's the one.

Only reason I got it is that my prior vehicle ('04 F250 SD) had a directional compass in the overhead that my daughter liked. She always wants to know what direction we are going. The mirror has the compass in it where she can see it. My compromise with her since she wanted Titanium and I wanted white.

I changed the color from Black to Galactic Gray a month ago. As it turned out, the dealer already had one in for a factory order at that time, so no need to put another one on order for me.

As it turns out, I just got back from Germany this past week and I did a drive by the dealership this afternoon.

Sitting on the lot is a new, still wrapped in plastic Galactic Gray Sport Edition V6 - and since they only had the 1 on order, I am 99% sure it's mine. I'll be calling them tomorrow to confirm and do the paperwork. It'll probably be in my garage by Weds I suspect!

I have seen some without a spoiler , I think it looks more truckish without one. I guess I see so many with them it seems like it belongs there. I have a GG V8 sport with one. Undecided on the spoiler .... looks ok either way.

It's an 04 Avalanche.

I just spoke to the sales rep and it is indeed mine. I'm just moving some cash around so tomorrow I'll probably go by and do the paperwork.

I'll be taking some pics tonight and posting them while it is still on the lot and in plastic. It'll be like baby pictures for the future!
