Went to several dealers yesterday and

hearno

came home with nothing. I'll be brief. I found what I thought was the perfect truck at a dealer in the NoVa area, about 200 miles from me. It was a 2007 black sport V8 4WD. It looked great in the pics and had right at 100k miles, t belt was done, cv boots were replaced recently, front and rear pads and rotors too, all at the dealer. I get there with a check in hand and I could tell right away that it wasn't gonna happen. It had body damage in places the pictures couldn't show, it also had heavy rust on the bottom. I had them lift it up so I could check out the underside and that's how I saw the body damage.

It was that moment that I gave up my search for a clean 4th sport v8 in black, I told the saleslady to make me an offer on a 2014 trail in black and give me a decent trade on my 05. Bottom line... DON'T EVER GO to Ourisman Chantilly Toyota.

I ended up at Koons Tysons since it's close by and I've had great deals from the Koons Company in the past. I looked through the "out the door" thread but that doesn't help much because taxes etc aren't being broken down and it varies as do additional fees the dealers add on. Here's what they offered:

2014 Trail w/entune and nav - MSRP is $37.6

$33.400 for the truck
$1470 in taxes
$65 to DMV
$885 delivery fee
$599 processing for a total of

$36,419

Should I hold out and hope it's still around and some more incentives come out as more 2015s start coming in or take this deal? To me, it seems like a good deal on a Trail. I don't want the premium package or KDSS if anyone was wondering.

Probably a good discount off MSRP but the $599 fee looks like extra dealer profit. I would ask them to remove it.

In Virginia, no dealer will take off a processing fee unfortunately.

hearno curious what they gave you for your trade if you don't mind sharing...

Don't mind at all. It was a 2005 Sport V6 4WD with 122.5k on it. I picked up a set of 4 BEAT rims with WORN 255/75s from craigslist and threw those on so I could keep my new rims and tires. It needed a front windshield and a CV boot split open within the last few days apparently as grease was everywhere on the passenger side. It had a few other issues as well... the a/c was questionable but blew cold usually. They tried to offer $7k at first but got them to $9k and was happy with it. I only paid $13.5 for it a year and a half ago and they could maybe get $11k for it once they replace the windshield and put tires on it.

The rear center cap was glued on and fell off as they pulled it to their back lot. It wouldn't stay on. The tires were cupped bad too.

You get that at Koons Tyson? I was just in the area and looked at a black trail at Koons Tysons. I want a blue one though, and I live in Florida, so did not purchase. I think I will have to order a blue one.

I would have waited since the 15 is coming out already.

I debated that when I bought mine a few months ago...briefly. But I ended up looking at it this way...there are no material differences from 2014 to 2015, and this way I'll always have about a year's worth of less mileage on mine when you simply look at it on paper. If you simply compare model years right now since the 2015s are about here, I have a one year old vehicle with only 3k miles on it.

ended up getting it in Chesapeake, VA. They matched the deal Koons offered and it saved me another trip to NoVa.
