I have started this thread in hopes of creating an ongoing conversation about the area. Residents and visitors are welcome alike. Post here if you are planning an outing whether it's hours prior or months. Also if you are in the area and in need of help this is the place for you.

General guidelines for the geographical area this includes is:

• The San Juans
• Grand Junction
• Glenwood Springs
• Durango
• Moab
• And more!

Basically if it is West of the continental divide and East of UT Hwy 191 this is the place for it.

I'll be out and about from Wed-Sunday in the San Juans for FJ Summit and some camping. Look for me out on the Alpine Loop and Imogene areas!

Thanks guys I am glad this is gaining some traction. I am always open to day trips within an hour or so of Grand Junction. Only downside is I have to work Saturdays right now. I have off Sun, Mon, Tue and love getting out with new people.

Want to go out to a loop around the Bangs Canyon area just outside of Grand Junction on my days off. Can do Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. This trip is doable in a stock t4r but still challenging for one on 33's.

Anyone interested? Would rather not go alone.

Been busy and off the forum for a while. I did go on the trail I mentioned above alone. Since I was alone I only got a few pictures but here they are.

Went for a quick afternoon trip over the long weekend to visit my folks who were camping. Did a little exploring while in route and ended up a little stuck. As usual, once forward progress stopped my wife pulled out the cell phone and became photographer.







Clean up was a real PITA!

9/21 Telluride-Ouray via Imogene pass
Poughkeepsie Gulch
Ophir pass
9/22 Relax/hike no trails planned
9/23 Ophir pass
Black Bear pass
Return home

All are welcome if anyone is available for one or both days. Should be just about the right time for the changing colors.

Also, as an update, my buddy that lives in silverton told me they were working on blasting a bypass around the wall on poughkeepsie. This article is from last year, but I think they completed the bypass this summer.

Thanks for the info! This is a tentative plan since conditions change so rapidly up there. Black Bear and Poughkeepsie are both on my list since they about the only two I haven't been over before.

If you find yourself with some free time while we are up the let me know I would love to have another vehicle to travel with.

Hey all, I just moved to the grand junction area from illinois. Would love to do maybe some weekend stuff around the area. Even just riding along spotting and taking pics would be a blast.
Here's some pics (hopefully) from coal canyon last week.

Not the flexiest thing in the world but it was a pretty good price and it made it here from Illinois so I can't complain. Message me if you want to meet up and hit something in the area. Still working on the whole job thing so I have some free time :couch2:
