Westin/Wade in channel window visors

We just bought a 2013 Blizzard Pearl SR5 last weekend. Has anyone used the in channel window visors with a 5Th gen? I've heard that they cause wind noise. Also read a review that they interfere with the closing off the windows because the auto window hits the edge of the visor and drops back down. I like the in channel idea because they aren't stuck on your paint. I don't like the possible interference with the windows. If anyone has these installed could you please post your experience?
I have them on my 98 and haven't had any problems.

Yes, they cause some wind noise but I think the truck itself makes more noise, even with my truck having sound deadening everywhere I don't notice it much at highway speeds and if the stereo is on, I don't notice it at all. You may have more sensitive hearing than me.

Yes, the front ones can interfere with the window going up, never had a problem with the rear ones. The trick is to bevel the bottom edge with a file, sand paper and buff it smooth then take your time with the install so the bottom edge is as out of the way as possible. Use a piece of double sided tape at these points to help. Mine make a click as the window goes past them but that is all.

I like the look of in-channel over externals and love being able to have the windows open a little even when raining.

Wade in channel window deflectors are garbage. One cracked when I rolled up the window. The other was warped on arrival. I modified the adhesive strip to try and improve the fit. The windows never went up. I Put a line on the window to check the gap and it was at least 3/16". Lots of high way noise. I have returned them and am ordering the AVS tape on window deflectors.

I wouldn’t recommend using any “in channel” window visors in most of Japanese vehicles and particularly in 4Runner… windows channel gaps are just too small…
I have always used stick on AVS brand on all 4Runners I had… never had an issue…
3rd gen (1996) i used to have is still owned by my friend, truck has just under 300k on it and I have installed AVS visors around year 2000… they still there.

In my comments, I have said “I wouldn’t recommend using any “in channel” window visors…” by its definition the word “any” would include OEM visors… LOL… :ybrick:
To clarify\reiterate: my reply is my “opinion” that is based on my knowledge and personal experience, I have also stated the reason for my point of view: small gap in the windows channels, therefore possible interference with the windows mechanism and channels, especially if you keep your vehicle (and in channel visors) for a long time that is all:cowboy:.

You and the opinion you have are enough to make you "Master Engineer" at pretty much any japanese auto manufacturer you desire.... clearly you know more than honda and toyota that have used in channel visor mounts since the 90's.

I had in-channel deflectors on my '10, and nothing on my '19. The '19 is noticeably quieter on the highway. The benefits of the deflectors weren't worth the added wind noise to me. I also had the occasional issue with windows not going back up on the first try.
