What about a Daystar 1" front and 1.5" Rear?

Ok guys,
I would love to do 5100 Blisteins all the way around with the 1.5" Daystar in the rear, but after spending $25,000 on this rig and a $6,000 on a retirement vacation the wife is not interested in talking money for mods

So, here's my question. I can buy a Daystar 1" actual (1/2" spacer) for the front and a 1.5" actual (1:1 ratio) for the rear, total $79.00.
I have a stock 2008, V-6, on 17" wheels, 30,000 miles no Xreas.

I like the factory rack, but want a little lift while maintaining good ride comfort and not too much gap that my stock 17" tires look small.

I've never seen this combination and was wondering if there is anything wrong with it?
I don't off road, but do pull a 1500lb pop-up in the summer.

I was thinking this could be a lift until next year. Then I could just do the 5100's all the way around and loose the 1" Daystar up front and keep on running.

The only other question is where I found these, the 1.5" rear is listed as KT09127BK and is black in color.

Daystar's site list this for a FJ Cruiser.

Daystar's part # for my 2008 is KT09118BK (black in color), but when I google it all the parts from vendors with this part # are red and are more expensive?

Your comments are greatly appreciated. This is a picture as it sits, stock. I have not bought anything yet until I hear from the experts.

Doug, I think it would be a cool combo while maintaining the factory rake stance, give it a try, you could always go another route later. Heck i've had 3 different suspension setups on my 4runner in almost 2 years of ownership.

The fj spacer should work fine in the rear. I believe member euy has this setup, plus fj coils. You can starch, he's got pics posted on here somewhere.

Bet that would look good, I think a factory rake, if raised a little higher (all around), would look pretty good. At least it isn't an expensive investment to where you'd be out 300+$ if you happened to not like the look or wanted to upgrade in the future!

Yep, I've been researching this for awhile now and I seen his set up. I was trying to avoid the FJ coils right now, but he recommended looking on Craigslist which I hadn't thought of. So that could be an option too while keeping costs low. Thanks for the input.

I guess I haven't heard any negatives from a mechanical standpoint that I would be screwing anything up.

That the exact set up I have on mine. I put the 1" spacer lift on the front and then decided I wanted to get the back up a little so I put on the 1.5 Rear Spacer. I love the lift and still have a tiny little rake to it. Maybe a 1/2" or less.

That's looks great man. I can tell a lot of difference and it's great to see an actual picture of this set-up. I've been looking for weeks and haven't seen this. Thanks so much for posting. I am going to hit the send button on my purchase . There are so many cool mods on this site, I am anxious to start doing something. Hopefully the purse strings will loosen next year lol.

Yes, I'll be doing the install myself.
I should have it installed within the next few weeks.
I'll post before and after pics along with some measurments.

I have a similar set up and am happy with it until I can afford to do more, like you. I have the 1" Daystar Budget Boost(2" lift) in front and 1.5"(actual) in rear. I also used the FJ spacers(KT09127BK) and they worked fine, and I have stock coils.

Still has the factory rake, but doesn't look so low. I think I ended up paying about $80 as well. For some reason Daystar will tell you that part number won't work, but I wasn't the first to use it, and its much cheaper than the part number listed for the 4Runner.

I've never seen a 1/2" thick spacer by Daystar for the T4R. You are correct, that part number is the 1" Budget Boost. This is a 1" thick spacer, which will give approximately 2" lift in the front.

Sounds like you got the answer you need, but here's a little added info. On our 4runners, you get double the spacer thickness in lift on the front. This is a concept the folks at Daystar just can't understand. When I was doing my first lift on the 4runner, I sent countless e-mails to them because I never could get a clear answer on how much lift thier 1" spacer would provide. They finally confirmed it was 1" of material, but also said it'd only give 1" of lift. I tried setting them straight in several e-mails following, finally decided I was fighting a loosing battle and moved on. All of that to say this: companies advertise the spacer based on what Daystar tells them, and they are not going with the 2:1 ratio on lift, which is the reason you got the answer you did.

The rear is really easy, tons of write-ups to show that. I will mention, I used galactic_04's approach to installing my OME coils, WAY easier than the way I had previously installed my FJ coils. I'll also note that I never touched the eccentric (alignment) bolts. Here's his instructions on how to do the front lift.

As everyone stated, you have the 1" thick front spacer = 2" of lift, exact same as my setup and EUY except we have FJ stuff. You will be happy..

To make sure I have this correct, I'm trying to do something similar. I got a set of FJ coils, front and rear.

I would order the Daystar KT09117BK for the Front.

And the KT09127BK is just for the rear, not the front?

I'm only looking to get a front spacer so I can level the 4R, and the FJ coils should give me about 1/2" of lift in the rear. So I'm not planning to use a rear spacer, but I want to make sure I get the correct ones for the front.

Did you all replace your shocks or was there no need with the spacers?

Also, if you ordered from Street Side, did it also come with the new bolts like it does from Wheelers?
