What air filter does everyone run

Its been a while sense I have been active on the forums. I have been running a TruFlow air filter sense before they went out of business. I was cleaning mine yesterday and its starting to disintegrate on itself. What foam air filters is everyone running these days? Are there any? searching did not yield any results for me.

I just use whatever is factory replacement. STP, WIX, whatever.

OEM Toyota filter from Amazon. I'm not opposed to performance filters, I just don't see the point on a 4Runner. I used a BCM filter on my Kawasaki ZX6R and a K&N type on my Challenger. But I run OEMs in both of my 4Runners.

And I would never run a foam filter. The disintegration you saw when attempting to wash it can also happen while installed in the air box. I have seen carb's get foam stuck in the venturies from Edelbrock foam filters back in the 90's.

Those "high flow" filters don't do any good. They flow more, but they let more dust and debris through in the process. Wix or OEM Toyota for me.

NAPA Gold. Supposed to come off the same line as Wix. I'd order OEM filters off Amazon but that requires a level of patience and planning ahead that I just don't have.

K&N but only because I want that cool sticker on the air box. All kidding aside if True Flow air filters were still around I would use them.

I believe they are. I used to run the Napa Gold, but the Napa near me closed down and the only one is on the other side of town now. I usually replace my filter when I pull it out of the box and say "Yup, I need a new one". Never pushed mine even close to the 30k miles they suggest. Dirty dusty roads will make quick work of a filter.

I got a spectre from advance somply because it was cleanable and not oiled like the k and n so no issues with it funking up the instake.

I bought an AFe Power. Lifetime warranty, and a synthetic washable material. No oil used. Rated really high, even URD sells them.

I ran a K&N for a few years but just switched back to OEM. Didn't notice a difference on this vehicle like I did my last. I also have an Airaid intake tube.

I just got my truck from my uncle who let me maintain the truck the whole time he owned it and the k&n that I dropped in 9 years ago never had any problems, I always lightly oiled it

I use a K&N drop-in filter, because that's what was in there when I bought the truck. I bought an OEM paper filter, which I carry and will use when I am in the dirt. I don't need the extra power and I do think the OEM paper filter is the best filter for the engine.

Really, aren't we splitting hairs with air filters? When maintained properly (oil changes, mainly), the engine runs fine to 400k+ miles. A crappy air filter isn't going to take 50k or more miles out of the engine. I mean... am I right?
