What are the advantages of Dashmats? What are the best accessories for 4Runners?

Hi Guys,

Just bought myself a 2nd Gen 4Runner (1992) and LOVE it and I've been adding bits and pieces here and there and am considering adding a dash mat.. only.. what's the advantage of a Dashmat? UV protection for the dash? -but then, surely you'd have a 'faded' look from the sun from where the dash mat doesn't cover? – Perhaps an advantage of a dash mat would be that there would be no glare from the dash perhaps?

Any feedback on dash mats and the best accessories for 4Runners would be most appreciated!

I live in southern Az. The sun kills dashboards. Plus it collects a lot of dust. I take it out every time I wash the runner, slap it against a trashcan a few times, wipe the dash with a wet towel and I'm done
