It's kind of hard to say what kind of music, Donavan Frankenreitter is like Jack Johnson, the rest are basically adult rock, on the softer more depressed side. I live in central MA and listen to a station 92.9 WBOS and they play some fairly off beat stuff, like the ones I mentioned.

POD: youth of the nation when im in the mood
Nickle Creek: one song from "this side"
U2: sunday bloody sunday(mostly old stuff)
Train: meet virginia(classic for my gen)
3 doors down: Life of My Own(just like the guitar)
Reliant k: my escape (punk rock phase)

I was just messin w/ ya bro. Those bands are all good in their own way. I just really don't like U2 (see sig.) and country. At least we can agree on the country!!! Not an Outkast fan?

rap is good for some stuff:

- sex
- if you have subwoofers(you dont listen to classic rock with subs)
- if you want to feel bad ass
- its the biggest party pleasing music out there
- everyone has heard usher, little john, and destiny's child, anyone know who the steve miller band is?(if your 40 and white, you dont count)
- freestyling is considered rap: you have never actually listened to a freestyle have you? listen to the words in rap, they can say alot

rap and rock are the same, they both have their shitty moments and their bad hair days and you just happen to see rap on its low points. download some tupac, biggie, eazy-e, xzibit, snoop dogg, dr. dre, and listen to what their saying and tell me if you get that out of the last foo fighters song. You willing to dish it out and not take it? post up your fav bands and listen to what we have to say. dont be mistaken, im not meaning to bash you here just trying to educate.

Right on!!! Rap is by far the best all around party/get crazy music. If you are all going out to a club, or having a party, rap/hip hop is the only way to get everyone pumped up. :dancin:

While I agree....after listening to rap in EVERY club/party EVER.....lots of people (myself incuded) get pretty excited when some DJ clues in and some good ol rock or country comes on

They just play that generic newest-on-the-charts rap shit cause the 19 y/o girls like to dance to it (also fine by me)......but us guys are supposed to know that much better music exists :
