Great info here, really helped me out. I'm going with ES fronts and the Gx460 rears.
What bump stops are you running?

I just put the energy suspension 8.9104g units on my front end. They feel great so far. With my 6112s at 2” in the front and these bumps, I can blast through dips and over speed bumps and it truly soaks it all up. My rear end on the other hand… does not keep up. With stock shocks and bumps.

My other vehicle is a KDSS GX460 that is still riding on the factory suspension (Don't buy Icons, both fronts arrived leaking). I think the factory rear GX bumps are definitely superior to the 4R's but I don't think they're good enough to buy over aftermarket bumps. Bigger hits in the GX are definitely quieter but only slightly less jarring compared to a 4R on it's own factory bumps. I know that might fly in the face of all the hype the GX bumps are getting right now but it's just my opinion. I wish I could encourage you to buy rear DuroBumps because they've honestly done well for me but I can't recommend them as Timbrens are the same money with a real proven warranty...
Update: Just noticed the bump stop is a bit long and folds over itself at initial contact. I may cut the first section off so it makes contact square with the arms.

the king 2" threaded bumps work great on the rear with total chaos fab mounts. it's a long afternoon install especially if you cycle the axle to make sure you set the bumps properly. But, theyre fantastic at damping and controlling bottoming out and keeping the rebound in check.
front duro bumps are still going strong for me. :Shrug:
Bump stops with 5100's
Just purchased a set of 5100's front/rear and will keep original springs. 2013 w/ 62k miles, lot's of nose dive and body roll with stock. When the shocks are installed, would there be any benefit from upgraded bump stops? Like sumo springs? Got a great deal on the shocks, the sumo springs are pricey. Thanks in advance

are you planning to keep it stock height or level it at all? I run energy bump stops and am lifted about 2.5". they made the truck feel much more progressive on big bumps rather than jarring as it engaged the bump stops. the feeling of stock vs energy bump stops is like the feeling of hitting a curb vs being on a boat and starting to go up a swell, if that makes sense. without the lift, however, i feel like the truck would just be constantly sitting on the longer bump stop and might negatively affect the ride quality and handling.

i'd trim them down a step. otherwise like mentioned, they'll probably be engaged constantly, which will make it feel stiffer.

Hi All. I’ve been reading this forum and I would like to put on some ES bump Stops on my 4Runner. I have this same set up, 6112 with a 2” lift on a 5th gen. I’m looking at ES web site but I don’t see the 8.910g. Can someone tell me what is the correct part number for the 5th gen? The 9.9135 looks the closest but I’m not sure if this is too tall. Thanks

It is 8.9104r (r is for red, g is for grey/black i think).

I got that but when I go to the website I don’t see that number. It goes from 3.9… to 9.9….

Thank you very much. For clarification I see these are for the rear but I assume this is what people are using on the front of their 4Runners? If so what do you recommend for the back?

Yeah we all run em in the front, even the hardware fits and does pretty dang good performance so good that i have no intention of ever changing them out.
whats your budget on the rear ?
I'm running icon hydrobumps in the rear, and had timbren's in the past (still like them). They both work well but they are so expensive.
My buddy is running lexus take offs (not sure what it is) and airbags and likes that combo. Honestly, i probably go that route if I had to do it all again.
When it comes to bumpstops i don't believe that there is some magical pixie dust that makes one piece of rubber better than someone else.
