Hi,
I'm looking to get my runner lifted but really don't know much about it been reading a lot of other people post to get a idea but is getting to confusing . So I'll just ask you pros out there what is a good combo or lift kits would you get if you just want to do some mild off-road? BTW I have an 05 limited 4wd v8

It all depends my man, the first few question's you should ask yourself before going any further are..

1. How big of a lift do you think you may want? (are you going for look, or offroad capability, both?)

2. Are you planning to upgrade to oversized tires?

3. Sorry to break the news, but a 1G will not buy you a decent full 3" suspension lift if you were leaning that way.... For little over 700$ is the OME full kit, but thats not incluing probably a 600+$ install fee if you dont do the work your self. let alone 265/70/17 tires are gunna look realy dumb on a 3" lifted runner, IMO any lift on the runner should upgrade to bigger tires since the center of balance just got higher.

4. for a mild, cheap spacer lift, its about 2-300$ depending on the brand, most of the guys on here do that just for the looks or to clear oversized tires.

5. little over 1G will buy you a nice FULL coilover suspension you wont regret!!! (not to mention full adjustability)

I would go through Cornfed (Home) for a mild spacer lift. I bought my lift through them and couldn't be happier. It is simple and within your budget.

Don't forget to budget tires as well. Are you doing the install yourself? 5100s are very well liked, is recommend them with ome front coils and Toytec super flex rear coils.
 
Will this set-up handle a front bumper ( shrockwork,arb)
How many inch will it lift ?
Who or where, has the best price for this set-up

You can also look in the for sale section on the classifieds here to see if anyone is getting rid of lifts for a good price. Otherwise, as mentioned above: it depends what you're going for: looks, performance, etc. and that will help determine what type you should go for.

Also keep in mind whether or not you'll be doing the install or paying someone, and also make sure you set money aside for an alignment after you have the lift put on!
 
Ome has different coil options, if you are getting a bumper you can get a stiffer coil and it will handle it. Lift amount varies depending on which coil you choose and the engine you've got (v6 weighs less and gets more lift than a v8 equipped 4runner). If you plan on a rear bumper, do omes all around.

I second the suggestion to look into Cornfed lifts. I chose the 3/2 lift (their highest) and absolutely love it. I have newer stock size tires and was not about to change them. They look fine with the 3/2 lift and of all my mods, the lift is among the best. I drive mostly on road and occasionally go mild off roading and do a good bit of driving in the snow. I researched this a lot and made the right decision for my needs.

After doing more research and going though you guys old post
This is the set up I think I'm leaning towards
OW Full 2.0" Suspension kit/ toytec ultimate 3" kit
33" Tire A/T brand undecided
Shrockworks or ARB bumper
Putting T4R.ORG sticker on the back window .....
Roughly 5k
What do you guys think about this set up ?

Now your talkin! IMO skip the spacer lifts and get the full suspension, 33's!
