Cleaning the interior crust first

I know there are a few threads on regarding rust treatment, but the one area I'm struggling on is getting the loose flaky chunks out of the frame. My problem areas are the sections just past the front wheels, alongside the first cat. There are quite a few pieces that are larger than any of the frame holes and so I'm not sure how to clean it out. I've been using a magnetic reach tool with grabber component but again some of the pieces are too large to be pulled out, especially from the smaller drain-type holes nearby along the bottom, and its very tedious process overall.

Any advice on how to break that up and remove it so I can proceed with some interior coating?

I use a coat hanger with a little hook bent in the end, it will break those pieces up as you pull it out of the frame holes. Like you said though, it's a tedious job, I've spent hours just raking a coat hanger in and out of all the holes and the reward is gobbs of rust!

Not too difficult, I used a pizza box stuffed behind the frame to prevent stuff from getting on the engine. wheel well is pretty easy since I don't have to worry about it getting on any exterior paint.

Only reason I can't suggest doing the whole frame yet, is that I've only used the Rustoleum Rust Converter product in two different sections and would like to test it for a bit before making an official recommendation. It certainly works well and application is easy, but something more industrial might be out there for doing a whole frame.

I've also seen some people use a drill-powered auger with a chain attached at the end to break things up but I figured I'd ask here before opening a can of worms and spending more than required.

As the person above mentioned, Eastwood does seem like the way to go- when I have the loose rust cleared out, I will be spraying it down with Internal Frame Coating and then a wider application of Fluid Film.
