Lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Got the rear one on but it was a lot harder and took much longer and many of the holes didn't really line up very well and instructions were... bit lacking but we didn't mess up the fender trimming got it sot on and saved the bumper to make our own cover of the gap area

What did I do in my 5th gen T4R ?????
Got a strange comment from someone in the Home Depot parking lot....
Back story: Now the guy says he's from Colorado but moved here to Louisiana.....
He says "Nice 4Runner. Too bad it's in LA instead of Colorado....."
I ask, "why is that?"
He says "Not much use for it here!"
So I look at this guy like :wtf: are you talking about. He doesn't have a clue what I use it for, besides there are some trails here in LA that have some rocks that require picking your line or substantial damage can/will occur. Not like in Colorado, I must concede.
I ask "What do you mean?"
He says "Not much you can do with it here, no rocks!"
Then he adds, "I used to have one but sold it and now I have this truck so I can haul stuff...."
So I am looking at him like where the hell is this convo going.....
Then I find out.....
He says "In Colorado, we jack em' up about 5-6 inches higher than you have your's.... what is that a 2016?
I respond by "No, it's a 2014 and it is quite capable at standard height, or it's height whether I am here using it for my purposes or if it was in Colorado....
Have a nice day!"
I turned around shaking my head....wondering, just what that was all about!

Same here, brother has a 14 Tundra, mom has a 16 Rav, step father has a 4th gen 4R, wife drives an 08 Highlander, and my 4R. And everyone is on at LEAST their 3rd Toy/Lex. Runs reeeeel deep here haha. I'll have to get everyone parked together for Christmas for a group shot *fingers crossed for a snow shoot*

Weird??? Maybe he is just jealous and wants a 4rnr as nice as yours but can't afford one so he has to put yours down...who knows? Also it sounds like he doesn't like it in LA
Today I took my 2016 TEP for her first drive in snow.
The OEM Dunlops are disappointing off road, but for some reason, I'd left a little bit of hope that they would be acceptable in the snow, even though I've lived in snow counrty my whole life.
These things were terrible. I;ve been holding off on new rubber until i lift, but I cannot.

Yeah, the ratings at Tire Rack are why I got new tires within the first week of ownership. Wound up going with the Falken AT3W since I was going to get an AT tire anyway. Definitely decent in the snow, but still trying to decide if I want to get a dedicated winter tire for my stock wheels as well, probably the General Grabber Arctic if I do.

If he doesn't like it here, I didn't see any chains holding him down.
Had my T4R for 3 years and never had an encounter like that!
He was in some old beater too!

Heh!
I had a much more pleasant encounter today in the Vons parking lot. While loading groceries into Megaweapon, a guy came and complimented my sliders and asked who made them.
