What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Damn that looks good. That's the goal for my Trail, did you change the front springs to compensate for the added weight? I like the C4 Fab bumper, SSO wasn't available when I looked on their website.

Thanks! I haven't yet replaced the springs. I wanted to get this weight on before lifting. With the stock suspension the winch and bumper dropped the front a quarter inch.

Btw I was only looking into 275/285 sized tires. That's why you will only find a limited size range listed. Many tires do not offer a 275 also.

I did my first oil change after hitting 30k miles since the dealer did them up to 25k. Anyway, all went well but the gorillas at the dealership had already stripped two of the skid plate bolts and so I had to get two more to replace them. Anyway, my twin six year old boys loved helping me do the work because they got to play inside the 4Runner all by themselves. You'd think they'd died and gone to heaven because they got to sit in the front seats.
 
Added the Gobi and ladder, FYI they now send a plastic piece that is applied to the roof to prevent the wind guard from scratching the roof when it gets debris between it.

On a seperate note, took the rig in for an oil change and tire rotation which is now outside the manufacturers warranty, so I took it to my local garage. The last time I took it to the Stealership, they decided on their own accord to take off my wheel spacers and rotate them as well. The issue came when they put the nuts back on backwards, with the acorn part facing out and screwed them back on more than tight. Well, it dug a groove in the wheel spacer which makes tightening them down to the correct torque, far more dangerous. So off with the old spacers and the new ones are on their way....never to see the stealership again. FML.....why wouldn't they!?

It was a rare warm 75 degree early February day here in Denver. Installed my new RCI skidplate

I have no ide how the pic got flipped.

And what do I even do with the old one? Do people buy them?

Nice - congrats!

What do I think so far? It was the right decision for my needs, but too early for me to give a detailed review and I'm naturally biased since I bought it right?

In the interest of not hijacking the "What did you do" thread, I'll point you to my posts in this thread for some pre/post install numbers I posted and a couple of pics.

I had the EXACT same issue, minus the twin boys lol. Do you have a part number for the replacement bolts? or did you just get some from the hardware store?

Thank you for this, I was about to do the same for my upcoming tire purchase.

I took Megaweapon in to The Truck Shop today to have the new RCI skid plates installed:

I got the set of front, tranny, transfer case and crossmember skids, plus the gas tank skid. Unfortunately
it looks like I still need something to fill the gap between the front skid and the bumper, but I didn't see
anything like that on RCI's website:
