Oh, nothing. I had to clear space on my workbench and that was just one of several Arduinos and Pis taking up space.

I think I'm going with the XRC-9.5K WATERPROOF WINCH GEN2-SYNTHETIC. It's on the cheaper side and with synthetic rope it'll be lighter.

I respectfully disagree. I prefer soldering when ever particle, for DC applications.



Why would it cause weak spots?? Or Rusting? Copper oxidizes, never heard of it rusting??



"weak spots" might be an issue if the conductor was require to constantly flex and bend.

But the crimp would have the same rigidity issues as a soldered connection. But the shrink tubing provides ample support to resist drastic bending at any one point.



DC vs AC current like to travel inside the wire so in this case it would be advantageous to solder IMHO.



The shrink tubing would limit it's exposure to the elements better then the open ends of a crimp, which would actually limit any oxidation that may be possible.

Shrink tube is the jam!
Bought a big kit and keep finding shit to shrink those tubes to [emoji12]

Check the smutty x20 10,000 synthetic .. not much more and wireless ( if you want ) wired as well.
