I'd love to do that, but cutting my current trim is free. It's already severely scratched from dirt getting between the rubber flap and the plastic, so I'd just be cutting that damaged section off. When I sell it in 10 years it won't matter anyway.

How does this look up close? It looks awesome in this picture but I feel like when I see plasti-dipped wheels on cars in person, they always look so shitty. But that may just be that I happen to notice the people that do a shitty job of applying the plastidip.
I really want to get my trail wheels powdercoated black but I don't know how to pull of going a week and a half without a vehicle.

It doesn't look bad at all up close but powder coating may look better. I did my best to clean the wheels thoroughly before spraying. The secret is to not use the can all the way because it will create air bubbles which will spoil the finish.

I recommend using a few layers of glossifier too. I used the glossifier on the front of my rig, and it gives it cleaner finish in my opinion.

I'd also add to keep the cans in hot water when not in use. helps spray more evenly.

I'll sell you the wheels I just took off my truck. You could have them powdercoated and then sell your old wheels when the new ones are ready. You wouldn't have to be without a vehicle for any amount of time then.

Forgot to mention in my earlier post as a birthday gift to myself I ordered a new recovery strap and maxsa escaper buddies off amazon. Ended up getting the maxsa for $108 with next day prime shipping, noticed today they are $148 now so that's cool. They seem to have good reviews so we will see how they hold up if I ever use them.
Have a idea for mounting them to the back of the rear seats for everyday carry when they are clean, and need to figure out a way to mount them to the oem crossbars for when they are dirty.

It's crossed my mind. Buy a set of SR5 wheels off Craigs for like $200, do the swap while the Trails get powdercoated and then swap again. But then how much additional cost for swapping the tires that many times and then I've got SR5 wheels (yuck) that I have to figure out how to get rid of again. By that point it might end up costing so much that I might as well just be buying new wheels.
Unfortunately, there aren't really any aftermarket wheels that I think look good. The only ones that get close are the Fuel Vector wheels but I haven't really seen any pictures of 4Runner's running those in 17s and I don't like being a guinea pig with my money lol
Where did you take these pics? I'd love to get there in my 4Runner

Central California, Pismo Dunes also called Oceano dunes on the coast. It's a Calif Off Highway park, Legal to drive on. Camping is allowed on the beach.
The pick up is running on a large bowl, it was a blast to drive if you keep your speed up and only turn to the down side.

Almost at 60k, so left it at the dealer for a few hours. I let them drain and fill the oil, transmission, transfer case, front & rear differentials. Set me back about $580, but what took them 3 hours would have taken me all damn day.
Still have to do little things like air filters and wiper blades. Thinking about diffs I still need to do the rear diff breather mod....

Had some time at work so I decided to CAD up and 3D print myself a phone holder that fits in that useless coin tray. Had to actually draw the TRD. Looked to plain without it. I also had time to do the Antman flashlight mod for my 1000 lumen Surefire P3X Fury in the door tray.
