Who did your retrofit? Anybody locally?

It was a guy in Raleigh. He was listed on the Retrofit Source website as someone they trusted to do the work. He was trying to get established at the time, so I took a risk and it paid off. I’d have to go back and find his name. I’d highly recommend him, but getting someone local would be better. He spent a pretty good amount of time aligning everything with the bumper off, then fine tuning it once the bumper was on.

Used some Amazon gift cards to get this kit.

No change in MPG which is fine, 18ish city.

Better engine sound than the stock whining noise. Can feel it only in upper rpms like when entering onto a highway.

these are cheap extensions, psi restyling on ebay
$200 for the set..
i have their textured set, as well as the ones that has the bolts. quality is good.
my guess is that shop that did install for me, might have broken some of the clips on the original flares.

Installed a rear valance. Removed my predator steps and put my stock boards back on. Then decided to spray the 4R with my foam canon i got for christmas.

We added a 2019 LX 570 to the garage. I already replaced the stock rubber with 275/60/20 BFG KO2's (33x11x20) and they not only improved the look and capability, they made for a more compliant ride as well.

I bought TRD Pro reps and want to swap them in to replace my oem sr5 rims but I'm curious if the valve stems + tpms can be swapped over to the new unit.

If so, my contention then is that the valve stems are metal so they'll just look odd with black rims. Should I just mask stuff off and shoot the stems with a bit of plastidip or spray paint after they're transferred over?

If I go with new rubber valve stems, I'll most likely need new tpms units. So, the switch-over job will jump from $46 to $362. Not sure if that's really good ROI on an additional $320 given that I can spray the valve stems with black stuff from a can every so often. When the valve stems fail (rubber seals start cracking, bent stems, etc.), I can get rubber ones then.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Advice?

If it helps, I had the dealer swap my OEM SR5 wheels over to the TRD Pro (black) and they used the same metal stems ( black caps) and TPMS sensors. Looks ok to me. I may change the chrome lugs to black later but it's not a big enough contrast to look odd.

That does help, thanks! Makes my decision a lot less stressful. Just hate for stuff to look oddly out of place.

I bought some 12x1.5 black lugs from ebay so I'm ready to rock and roll

Changed differential and transfer case fluids

Today I changed the rear, front differential and transfer case fluids. Pretty straight forward besides my garage being very cold (extremely). Can't believe dealer wanted to charge $450 ($150 for each). Got the synthetic 75-85 gear oil which was about $30 per bottle (7 total). None of the auto parts around here had that weight so got it at the dealership.
39K miles and both differentials oil fluids were very dirty, glad I changed them since I'm using the H4 a lot here in Helena, MT. transfer case wasn't bad at all.

Installed an RCI skid I bought on the classifieds here.

Also, while I was under there, the TRD Pro skid plate looked a little grimy. I removed it, cleaned it, and painted it.

So far I really like them, I HATED stepping out over the stock steps, I wanted something that was tucked in really well, but still offered protection.
I think they are the perfect compromise.

My OEM steps on my Gen5.1 made great shelves. They’re great for gettin’ the back of yer pants dirty! LOL!
