What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I normally use xpress wax and or v07. Right now just the polymers in the wolfgang uber. I wash it every two weeks and use the xpress wax or v07. I washed it 7 days ago and used xpress wax then so it should be good until next time.

I have looked in to other sealants but I apply enough for it to last.

Edit: Anything that involves excessive rubbing I dont use, like paste wax. I will be adding Mequiar's Ultimate Fast Finish to the routine for protection in the near future. The application appears very simple and had good reviews.

I reset both the trip meter and the average MPG as soon as i left the tire shop with the 285s on. Glad i went with the SL tires. I expected 16.5 or so, but this WILL DO!!

ANYONE TESTED THEIR SPEEDOMETER FOR ACCURACY??

Crazy enough before the tire swap my Speedo was off about 2 MPH. I first noticed it by one of those traffic radars, it said i was doing 58 MPH and i had cruise set at 60... So i then used my GPS, and tested with 2 different phone apps and sure as shit it was off about 2mph consistently... Now that i have the bigger tires it is more accurate than ever.

Maybe Toyota realized lots of people were upping their tire sizes so they calibrated them for bigger tires, or maybe mine was just an oddball but im not mad at it.

How was Steel? In better shape than Lippincott? I'm still trying to plan a trip starting with Titus and ending through Cerro Gordo.

Steel pass was fantastic. I thought the narrow rock bit would be longer, but most of the trail is dry river. I'm loving Death Valley, Cerro Gordo looks great, but I get dizzy on a step ladder.
I went on the Lippincott to gather eagle eggs. Those eggs were a lie! They gave me no eagle powers! They gave me no nutrients!

Sorry, it had to be said, I love Nacho Libre.

Same. My speedo is more accurate with 285s than it was with 265s.

Those are 285/70 Falken wildpacks . About the lift? I just can’t figure that out, installed King 650 lb. C/O with 0” preload, 1” Eibach spring on rear . 23”F 24”R from center of hub to fender, never measure when it was stock. Just like the way it stands right now. Thanks

Been away for a few months due to being slammed at the office (our busy season). Not many mods have been completed but I have been trying to outfit my Victory 4x4 molle panel with goodies. For the record, I LOVE THIS THING! Our trucks have a surprising lack of storage cubbies for even the most basic of supplies so these panels are almost a must. I will definitely be getting another for the other side and maybe the console ones too.

I bought a recovery strap not realizing that it wasn't a "kinetic" strap which is evidently superior for helping get unstuck but it will do for now. I also mounted my loaded IFAK, extinguisher, a hammock, shackles, and most recently the shovel kit pictured below. Pretty cool little kit and far more robust than I expected. I will add more as I go and certainly other bits when the second panel comes along! Just a quick update...keep wheelin gang!

I’d love to, but note that I moved AWAY from Big Pine; now it’s a seven hour drive to get just to Eueka Valley. In the decades I lived there and elsewhere in the Eastern Sierra, I often ran all or parts of the trail; as well as others in the region.

He supplied the unmodified OEM air box that will enable some experimentation. That would be should I ever get more than a couple hours at a time to tinker with things! Tuesday I did swap out my upper air box for his with the hydrocarbon filter still attached. It did a fair amount to reduce the intake noise which seems overly loud as soon as the weather turns cold. It also makes the exhaust smell less like a lawnmower with the headers.

I also put up a new patch, and it's a great fit between the overhead console and the sunroof! Get yours from Tactical Outfitters
