Finally got the spacers I needed for the side rails of the rack Im building. Still waiting on the materials for crossbars. This project i believe was the final straw for my cheapness and need for instant gratification!!! Long story short. Spend the money and wait to get the right shit or spend double and wait twice as long. * Should be able to finish it off next week. BTW anyone know a place near salt lake city I can get some 80/20??

My LFD sliders FINALLY arrived. I began sanding them tonight. I'll probably go over them again tomorrow with a dremel to get in the nooks and crannies that I couldn't get into today. I'm hoping to get these all painted and put on my 4Runner by Sunday at the latest, but I do have until Thursday since I'll be heading to Rausch Creek Off Road park on Friday for their event on Saturday. I'm only going with the green group because it's my first time and my truck is still mostly stock, but I'd still like to have them on anyway.

If you've never been there, you can still have a ball on green trails. You'll probably be able to even do blues with the go arounds on the harder sections.

Looking good. I'm about to undergo a DIY rack as well. Saw a youtube video, dude even made a parts spreadsheet for it. I'll make a few modifications for my liking, but overall, it seems pretty easy.

I’ll be at rausch this Saturday! Are you doing an Off-road Consulting trail ride? I did their blue ride and it was cool being the only Yota in a bunch of Jeep’s on 35s and 37s. I did get stuck pretty good on a blue/black trail but stacking rocks got me out. This weekend we are doing a bunch of blues. Should be fun!

Oh yeah, I chose the green group. I've been on dirt before, but it's my first time like this. I could have probably gone with the green/blue group, but my 4Runner is still mostly stock. I'm going to use this green run to give me some experience to tell what changes I might want to make to my 4Runner before I try something more serious. Yeah, I went full bore into getting sliders before even going on a green outing, but I simply wanted them regardless of how much I needed them.

Awesome! Have fun! I'm not doing the off-road consulting ride. I'm doing Crawling For A Cure the following Saturday. I'm with the green group. I still only have the puny stock skid plates, and with the way things are going I might not have my sliders ready anyway. I hope it doesn't rain this weekend! I'm going to hit them with primer tomorrow, and then it'll be truck bed liner after that.

Tonight I'll do the second round of going over the car with CarPro's Eraser, and after will lay down 2 coats of CQuartz UK 3.0.

Tomorrow morning we'll lay down a top coat of CarPro's SiC.

Next week we'll get to the wheels, for which I have Gyeon Q2 Rim for.

Work in small sections and maybe try backing out of the garage and into the sunlight every couple panels completed. High spots can be tough to spot, but if it starts curing you will have to buff it off and start over.

I actually have a 10' X 20' walled canopy I'm doing the work in.

Any other tips that might help me? I think I'll start tonight once the temps get below 80F.

Be particularly diligent on removal around the badges and along the lower door panels. This is where I failed and had to remove/restart in these areas. Lunar Rock will likely be a little more forgiving than mine (black).

And, I think you're right about the lighter color being more forgiving; I felt the buffing off was quite easy (compared to most wax jobs I've ever done).

Removal of the high spots does seem easier than most paste waxes. If you miss a spot and it cures, it's not like wax where you can just take a microfiber to it. Glad it's going well for you, though.

Yeah on stock UCAs with 2.1 or so caster, I had to remove the mud flaps and trim a small section of the front bumper. When doing the alignment, I told them to shoot for 4 degrees caster. They failed to let me know that the "printer is messed up" and they didn't print out my before/after alignment numbers. My receipt shows the note of 4 degrees caster, but I'm not sure if it is actually there.

Took the 4Runner for them to put it back on the alignment rack. They didn't set it to 4 degrees caster like originally asked. They corrected it while I watched and now no more rubbing. Final caster numbers of 4.2 on both sides.

Removed rear sway bar. I removed the front a few months ago and wish i would have removed the back at the same time. Its a little more body roll but not tremendously bad like i had been warned. Now onto removing the rest of the kdss system. I will be selling the entire system if anyone is in need.
