What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

That looks sharp my friend...you notice any MPG drop with the lift?

Thanks! So far I've been able to keep it right around 18.5-19mpg, which is my normal MPG, but it is more difficult to do so. Getting it moving is where I notice it the most. Trying to get an additional 80 pounds of tire moving is pretty noticeable.

I'm an MPG whore (there I said it...). I used to drive a Prius so I'm pretty good at playing the "mpg video game". Threading the gas pedal once I'm up to speed, coasting to stop lights, slowing down when I know I'm not going to make a light so I can try to hit it on the next green... etc... Basically I drive like an elderly asian lady that everyone hates to be behind :AK47: :sadwave: Luckily for me, I don't do a lot of highway driving and I've gotten pretty good at timing the lights around where I normally drive. So, I'm usually able to keep at a pretty steady 45-50 mph range for 2-3 miles at a time. So that helps a lot. I'm probably around 17-18 above 70 on the freeways. Time will tell though and I'm only on my first tank of gas since getting them installed on Friday.

Picked up a rtt from Tepui. Installed on stock roof rails.

That tent is SICK! Can the stock roof rack handle that and people up there? Camping with that would be the heat...shit I need one for when I'm in the dog house I could just set up the tree house!

Yea, its mounted directly to the stock roof rails, not the cross bars. The roof rails can handle much more than the cross bars. I can't wait to use it. I'm heading to Utah tomorrow for a week long trip and will be camping everyday.

Played around with a friend in our matching 11 TEs. Turns out things had been washing out.

Note: this is terrifying, but his truck came out completely unscathed, aside from a bumper dimple. I just stopped recording so I could go make sure it didn't tip over.
Where was this at?

On the way to Chiva Falls in the Reddington Pass area. East Tucson.
Hey neighbor :)

I did pull one mean looking rock out from in front of his squished front passenger tire, then put my weight on the driver side, he turned right and drove right down.

It was a little bit of work getting back up that hill. We did some digging, for sure. Hopefully next guy that comes along will be able to see it better.

Looks like fun! Chiva Falls is on my short list of trails to run down there. My father-in-law lives out that way so the next time I'm down there I might scoot on over and see how stuck I can get my truck.

Dude drop me a line if you're coming down. Trail head is 20 min from me, I love going up there, and there's a decent chance of water being there during the rainy season which is doing pretty good right now. There's a swimming hole along the way too, called frog hollow.

I've got a new set of skids coming in the next couple of weeks, so we can take the hard way in (three feathers) if you're feeling ambitious!

4Runner vs Garage door. Twice !!!

1. Closed 4Runner tailgate using garage door opener. One point for garage door (picture 1).

2. Enlarged garage door opening by backing up 4Runner with tailgate open. One point for 4Runner (picture 2).

Was this within the same day :suspicious:

No, but same week. Does it count?
The paint scratch was introduced when closing garage doors run its hinge pushing the tailgate down. It is not as bad as it looks on the picture - even stock 4Runner is quite tough machine (except these flimsy plastic bumper covers).
Backing up with tailgate open didn't do anything to the car - I just need new door trim for my house.

Got these in today... RCI metalworks sliders with bump out and top plate.

I like the holes for grip.
My daughter loves to climb up and down into the 4runner, but mine are very sleek and smooth - when it's wet we have to be a little more cautious.
I do love the way the sleeksters look, though.
