What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Not today but tomorrow, got a bunch of little things on the list including getting these installed.

Just got the same in the Mail today from Camelback Toyota. Im pumped to get them in but am a little intimidated about removing the entire front bumper. Might have Toyota do it. I've seen the threads with the steps, but not sure I can do it solo.

Yeah it sux you have to remove the bumper but what ya gonna do eh. I also have grill guard with lights and all that has to come off also which I just didn't have time for today.

I did however get some other things done today. I changed the oil, adjusted the front coilovers to bring the front up about an inch because it has settled since I installed the lift last may. I also finally installed the Trail edition gas tank skid that SOcalTRAIL had so graciously given me for free. Thanks again Shawn!!

And I also had to remove this huge mouse nest from under the engine cover. I couldn't believe how much stuff was packed in there or how it ever got that big as I drive the truck everyday. Persistent mouse I guess.

Is that the black housing or the gray??? If its the black, do you have a part nunber? I want to get me some when I get my 2013 4runner this weekend.

Good thing it's still running. I've seen more than a few cars and trucks that have lost a battle to mice with an appetite for small wires and hoses. The repairs usually aren't too difficult, but it's often hard to determine what needs to be fixed -- especially when the insulation is chewed through leaving wires that function normally, but are begging for a short.

Yup I'm all to familiar with chewed wires. Fortunately everything looks good I couldn't find any damage. Fingers crossed :boink:

I think they only come in regular silver(SR5/LE) or black(TE)? I've never seen oem gray ones...just get a TE this weekend and you won't have to worry about getting them :thumb:

Drove to N. Andover, MA over the weekend. A total of about 3000 miles (FL to NY to MA) in a total of 5 days. I was 3 m.p.h. short of maxing out the speedometer on my way up to MA! :jaw drop:

Lucky bastard!! Congrats :thumb:

I went to my local dealer in hawaii and saw a gray te and the headlight housing is gray and not black....

I am picking a sr5 4x4 because I need the 3rd row... I would love a te but no 3rd row...

Of all the cars I've owned in my life (lots) I've never owned anything so easy to care for as BP.

Nice dude! Which tires will you be going with? Did you end up using the coupon from DTD?

I had some fun in my TE today. Due to lots of recent snow and high winds, driving has been horrible outside this city where I live (Regina, SK). Major highways have been shutdown, and many people got stranded out on roads overnight due to big drifts and zero visibility. I needed to get just a few miles out of town on a gravel road this morning and got halfway there in whiteout conditions but when I tried to find my turnoff I couldn't see it (kind of like being in heavy fog). I knew I was at the right spot as there is a railway crossing opposite the turnoff. I got out and inspected and realized that there was a snowdrift as high as the truck blocking the road. Not happening, so I headed to work.

Tried again to get in this afternoon, taking my wife along. The turnoff was more visible and enough of the snow had blown away to be able to plow through. Still, this road was covered in drifts, and the snow was blowing fiercely across the vehicle. Think snow piled on each shoulder up to 6-8 feet, then snow that blows over the top across your windshield. Drifts were as deep as 3-4 feet but mostly tapered enough to be able to plow through. Alas, I beached the thing in one massive drift. Some serious shoveling later, I was able to rock it out of there in L4 and then get turned around. We parked it and walked the rest of the way in on foot, took care of business and then headed home. I did have to shovel a path through one other drift but otherwise the TE powered through the snow like a beast. Love that truck!

Once we were home, we reminded ourselves that it is for conditions like today that we bought the T4R.

Plenty of adventure for one day. Now, off to buy groceries.

First of all, thanks for your your help and advice. I will end up going with Nitto Crossteks from my local Merchants/NTB shop. They have a promo, buy 3 get 1 free. So 4 tires will run me @$543+tax. All the other tires I was looking at were @$100 or more excluding mount and balance. They seem like a part A/T and part H/T tire which is fine with me since I never go off road. Guess time will tell but T4R member Qjake has them and said that he hasn't had any complaints so far.
