Weekend of projects
Started the weekend by installing an 800w inverter for my upcoming trip. Took a lot longer than expected as I had to do some relocation of the connectors under the driver's seat. This unit was taller than expected.
Added a little protection to keep me from accidentally turning the unit on, until I get a chance to wire up the remote switch. (there is a small rubber bumper to keep it from pressing the button
The next day it was on to working on the fridge slider. I have the slider frame built for about 2 months but have been trying to figure out a way to actually attach it. I don't know if this is the best way, and can't say for sure it would hold in a violent rollover but is should work for the upcoming adventure.
I still need to do some work on it, but the main structure is in place.
Then as I am bringing in the mail Sat night I notice something weird with the drivers side headlight.
I swear everytime I fix something, something else breaks. Honestly, I don't know how the shroud stayed on so long. There were only 3 out of the 5 tabs in place and I didn't see any in the housing anywhere. Not sure if Jesse broke them when he built them or what.
Anyway, I baked them apart and decided to make some aiming adjustments while it was apart. I cranked the projector all of the way up and the housing way down. Now I might actually be able to use my high beams. I am at max adjustment with the projectors so it's as good as it's going to get. Nothing I can do about the tilt in the light. That would require full disassembly and redrilling of the holes. Pretty sure I would just make it worse.
When trying to fit the shroud back on, it wouldn't stay. Finally realized that because I had adjusted the projector so far up, the shroud was hitting the back of the housing. After quite a bit of grinding, I was able to get it to clear.
Since I don't want this happening again, I took an extra step to ensure it will stay on now.
In the morning I will put the parts back in the oven and seal it back together. Then I will add some gorilla silicon around the edges to make sure no water gets in. And hopefully everything will work again.
