I had Blizzaks on a GTI and they were unstoppable like you said. I was thinking of getting a set for the 4Runner.

What size did you go with? How are 20" Blizzaks on the dry road? Also, if you have any more pics I would like to see what they look like on the 20" LTE wheel.

I did the equivalent to the stock tire size. I didn't think there would be much benefit in a wider winter tire. They do look good though, a little more aggressive than the Geolandars.

Compared to what we can get, it wasn't horrendous, but it was pretty big for a pre-Halloween snowstorm and the warm concrete made it icy for a couple of days too. It was also enough for my commute to take over an hour too, there were a few people in the ditch in West Calgary. Here is a picture I saw:

San Gabriel/Azusa OHV in LA county. Fun place for mudding, but not much else. They just opened a rock climbing course immediately past the staging area in July.

I haven't had the X-ICE on my car, but a friend of mine had the X-Ice and the Blizzaks on his S4 over the years and swears by the Blizzak. My last set of winters was the Yokohama S. Drive which were dreadful, and years before the Michelin Pilot Alpin which was just okay, they didn't have anything on the Blizzaks though, I feel they are the best winter tires I have ever had.

The price on the DM-V1 wasn't too bad either, I did the whole deal mounted, balanced and installed for just over $1200 Canadian with a $75 mail in rebate.

what did I do with my baby last weekend

Drove to u tenn in Knoxville. From memphis 365miles x 2 (730 miles) round trip to pick up my 19 year old daughter and let her drive it back for a training exercise on avoiding trucks and other freeway tips with my heart in my mouth all the way . Real test of parenthood was this...........

Now she wants it ..so I promised it her if she graduates without losing her scholarship (she has to keep grades up!!!) and then I will buy a new 2016 runner for me .

I like the shoreline blue ,.......... hope they still have that one in 2016 , current 2010 Ltd is silver and is my baby.......
