Is that arm supposed to grip the top tube? My Thule of similar design grips the front tire in the v between the tire and fork stanchions.

Yea I don't think that's quite right. Bay you need to put the arm with the bend on top on your front tire next to the shock I think. Edit: Just watched the video - and you got it right! I am like Quentin and every one I have looked at used the tube to lock the tire but yours have the lower rim anchors where most do not. Nice! Have you rode it much yet?

1E, Rode a few easy trails up at Red Rock and just bought the wife a cruiser for Christmas (Hence this type of bike carrier as her bike has a super low top tube)
I'm digging the 29'r and I did what you suggested, got a good frame as a starting point and then change out parts as my experience get's better.

I just spent the last three days in Truckee, CA and we've been walloped with non-stop snow for the lasts 60 hours.

First time with the truck in the snow and it's been terrific. I think it's even better than my old diesel f350 which was a snow beast.

Stop dunlop tires work surprisingly well and I got to try out all the different 4x4 modes and the rear locker. Pretty cool!

Oh yeah, I skied 3 days too. I guess that was fun. =)

Went and played with the kids in the snow, I'm glad I don't live where it snows a lot as the salt and stuff on the road makes for a very dirty vehicle.

To be honest they just look like regular steelie color to me :shrug:? Maybe it's more apparent in person though, pictures might not do it justice
