The wife and I took advantage of the first real day of spring and took the sea kayaks to Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn. Still need the drysuits though, the water is in the 40's!

And of course a shot of the truck on the old seaplane ramp with the kayaks loaded up, on the way to stuff ourselves with broiled scallops and corn on the cob.

Only patrolled Jamaica bay once when I was stationed out there but I was based at the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point on the Sound side. Almost makes me miss NYC...just a little, well that and sausage, egg and cheese on a roll from the bodegas.

Truck looks good! How do you like the steps? I'm between them and the MetalTech Outpost Offroad Sliders...trying to figure out how hard I'm going to push the truck on the west coast.

Quick trip to Muddy Lake mead!!!

Found myself taking a detour over to Lake Mead (Anniversary Narrows) Its a little hiking trail out near the Lake, It used to be a small mining area. A Rarity, we have rain fall this time of the year, or I never get to enjoy it. I was able to get the TE a bit muddy, and I found out that I'll definitely need some better offroad tires. I felt my ride slipping during an uphill climb.

Yesterday actually....
I installed Metal Tech offset rear lower links and Toytec Superflex rear springs to replace the SAW rear springs.They gave me 1/2" more lift and are stiiffer then the SAW's as I have some weight going on the rear soon.Also removed the rear Icon Piggy backs to check and lube the bushings.Still good at almost 55k miles on them.

Rear bumper?? :hungry:

Mounted a S&W collapsable baton using 1.25" Clipper Clips. I also finished blacking-out the chrome a couple weeks ago with platidip. I wish I'd done it sooner!

Do you have a better pictures with your wheels, I think there is only two members on 5th gen who has methods wheels. I like them a lot.

I'm toying with the idea of doing a summer detail on one of the small seasonal fireboats sometime before I retire. I'm worried I'll get sick of the water though!

The steps are satisfactory for my needs. My wife likes them. But they're definitely not sliders, and the paint is flaking off big time. My emails to Nfab about their paint warranty have gone unanswered...
