We used to work with the FDNY guys regularly out of Ft. Totten. That's the place to be for FDNY seasonal fire boat. Water is usually pretty smooth, lots of activity out there and not bad scenery to boot :eyebrows:

Marine 9's quarters is a mile from my house, and M1 is a ferry and bike ride away. If we're still on Staten Island when/if I ever do it, those are my choices. I'll spend a whole summer riding my bike to work! But honestly all of those units are a blast to work on...
Spent last week traveling to Mojave National Preserve, Joshua Tree National Park and Orocopia Mountains Wilderness, with a stop at Desert Hot Springs for a shower and a dip.
This is at Mojave Mailbox. The winds were hellacious, with gust up to 50 mph causing all sorts of sand and debris to be airborne.
This is the Orocopia Mountains Wilderness. Red Jeep Canyon Trail. 17 mile of pure fun, though it is a bit rough to be pulling a trailer.
Camping!

All and all, fun trip!
The ass end of my truck sags worse than a forty year old secretary's, so I ordered some airlift 1000's to see if it helps. Carrying 200+ pounds of water as well as the tongue weight, doesn't help matters much. I was constantly dragging the hitch.

How do you like the Jumping Jack? It's been on our list for a while since we figure we can throw a couple ATVs or kayaks on top for more adventures.

What we did today...
Trip to Costco with the dogs (Lab & Belgian Tervuren) for just a few things & ended up loading up...seats down, dogs on one side NEW TRAEGER GRILL on the other & all the other crap we got up in the Thule... great day at Costo...$1100 bucks later... http://audiokarma.org/forums/images/smilies/jump3.gif

Thursday took it in for the 10k service (lube oil filter and tire rotation)
Saturday I washed it and was trying to give it a good claybar, but the weather started rolling in and had to stop before finishing.
Sunday I was out for a drive with the family, and going down the freeway I took a rock to the windshield and it's cracked and still growing this morning.
This morning I scheduled an appointment with Safelite to come out and replace the windshield.

Assume you have the heated windshiled .... make sure you get the correct replacement.

yes...and that's one of the questions they ask is if it's got the auto dim rear view mirror, and if it has the wiper heaters....so I've already got that info in place. If they use the wrong one, well then they'll be out again on their dime and not mine.
