I guess I would say I'm doing it for both. The longer I had my SR5, the more the looks bothered me. The thing that gets me most though, is the rocker panels preventing a "clean" install of sliders, and the lack of easy access to recovery points.
It had been nagging at me a while, but it's a lot of money. Luckily, my wife ran into the garage and ruined the front bumper only a few weeks after I backed into the babysitter's car and cracked the rear bumper! I took this as a sign from the Toyota Gods, that I should do a TE conversion, lol. :shrug:
For the record, I know that converting a SR5 doesn't quite make as much sense as a LE, but a new truck was not an option for me and I couldn't bare to spend money replacing those ridiculous SR5 bumpers.

Just got back from a 4,400km (2740mi) road trip! Stops included Wrentham MA, Milford CT, DC, Shenandoah National Park (Skyline Drive) in Virginia, King of Prussia Mall and Philly, then Cape Cod where we did a day trip over to Nantucket.
The 4Rumner performed flawlessly! The computer stated that I averaged 11.8L/100km (19.93mpg) and this inlcudes everything such as traffic thru Boston and DC, idling, stops, city driving, etc. From the tanks I have manually calculated, the computer has been up to 0.3mpg off, so I'll just say I got 19.63mpg. Awesome!
Also, whenever I could I was doing 120km/hr (74.5mph) or more on the highway- which was a good chunk of the trip and means I could have easily achieved well over 20mpg if I went slower. Going down to DC it was just me and my gf, coming back we had 2 other passengers with us. The computer actually said I got 11.6L/100km (20.28mpg) on the way down to DC.
Edit: I also noticed a lot of 5th gens south of NYC and especially around the DC Baltimore area. Doubt I saw any of you but I definitely passed a few Shoreline Blues!
