08/19/2013 Webster Pass - Deer Creek - North Fork Swan River
Had a blast yesterday taking the 4R on it's first true off road adventure. My friend in the Wrangler and I both had the day off so we decided on running a few trails up in Summit Co.
We started with Webster Pass from the 285 side and followed it into Montezuma. From there we took CR 5, which turns into Deer Creek; we followed it up and took the North Fork for Swan River the continued along the top over to Wise Mtn. (which had the winter warming hut with the American flag). We stopped here to talk to a built up Jeep Cherokee and a seemingly stock 1995 Bronco. The last portion of the trail which was defiantly the hardest section of the day, mostly because it was only wide enough for one vehicle and parts of the trail had been washed away from rain. The bronco ended up getting stuck when his tires slipped from his line and he landed on a rock he was trying to avoid. A jack, some rocks, and 20 minutes and he was good to go; he was thankful we all stopped to help he bought us all a round in Breck. Doubt he'll read it here, but cheers!
Awesome day though, I really couldn't have planned for better weather; I don't think it left the 55-60 degree range. Anyways, here's some pics.
